Halleluyah
Grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied unto you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As we step into this New Year, we return all glory to God who has preserved us and granted us a new beginning. The Lord calls us afresh with this word: “And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine” (Leviticus 20:26). This year is a year of consecration and divine direction.
As we journey through the year, there are five important things we need to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives:
1. A Seeing Eye
We need spiritual sight to perceive what God is doing per time. A seeing eye enables us to recognize divine opportunities, avoid spiritual traps, and walk in God’s light. “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them” (Proverbs 20:12).
2. The Spirit of Discernment
In this New Year, discernment is vital. The spirit of discernment helps us to distinguish between truth and error, divine leading and human emotion, right doors and wrong doors. With discernment, we will not be misled, and our steps will be ordered by the Lord.
3. Understanding the Power of Time in Destiny
Your destiny is a function of time. What you do at the right time determines where you will end. This year, God will align us with His divine timing—no more delays, no more premature actions, and no more missed seasons.
4. A Prayer of Inquiry like Moses
We need a heart that continually inquires of the Lord. Moses sought God’s counsel, saying, “Show me now thy way, that I may know thee” (Exodus 33:13). In this New Year, we must not assume or act in haste, but ask God for direction before every major step. A prayer of inquiry preserves destiny and guarantees divine guidance.
5. Wisdom to Avoid What Is Not Necessary
As the saying goes “What is not necessary to do, is necessary not to do.” In this New Year, we need wisdom to avoid distractions, unprofitable engagements, and relationships that do not add value to our spiritual growth. By focusing only on what is necessary, we preserve our strength, our time, and our destiny.
