The apostles themselves gathered on the first day of the week: “On the first day of the week we gathered to break bread.” —Acts 20:7 “On the first day of every week each of you should set something aside.” —1 Corinthians 16:2 And John calls it “the Lord’s Day.” —Revelation 1:10 The Sabbath was a shadow. Christ is the reality. (Colossians 2:16-17)

Joseph and the unbelief of his brothers.

Although Joseph had already forgiven them of the transgressions against him, they still lived in fear because they could not believe.

In the very same way, the real reason why people are living in fear is not due to their sin but rather the unbelief in what Jesus has accomplished on the cross, washing away our sins forever.

Pastor encouraged us not to look to our own thoughts but only on the words of God which tells us that we are justified, we are sanctified and we are holy through the blood of Jesus Christ.

The true difference between Cain and Abel.

Like Cain’s offering, we often try to stand before God with our works, our goodness and our efforts. But as we see in the book of Genesis, we can see that everything from the earth was already cursed by God because Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. The only thing that God respected was the offering of Abel = the firstborn of the flock and its fat.

Pastor showed parallels between Abel’s offering and Jesus Christ, who is our lamb. It was shown very clearly once again that the only thing that God accepts and respects has nothing to do with us but what we rely on. Will it be your own works Or will it be the sacrifice and blood of Jesus Christ.

Living for the will of God.
When David was living in the palace, he began to think about the ark of the covenant that was dwelling in a tent. Though God had not told anyone about His Will to build a temple, David was a man after God’s own heart.
This is who God is looking for today. He doesn’t force us to do the will of God. Rather he is waiting for people who have the same heart as him. Pastor encourages us to give our lives to live for His will rather than our own purpose and desire.

It is not the law that we need.
We need Jesus. It says that if you keep the laws, you will be blessed. But not one person in the world succeeded in keeping the law. Then why did God give us the law

Because the heart of Jesus defeats sin, when the word of Jesus enters our hearts, the same works of Jesus occur in us and give us the power to overcome sin—whether gambling, alcoholism, drug addiction, or even disease. A man who had been infirm for 38 years was bound by his condition and could not overcome it. For decades he struggled and tried, but nothing worked. Yet when he accepted the words of Jesus, everything changed. Jesus overcomes sickness, Jesus overcomes death, and Jesus overcomes evil. I also tried to overcome disease by my own effort and failed, but when I stopped trying on my own and instead accepted the words of Jesus into my heart, it became something Jesus did, not something I did. When Jesus worked, the sick man was able to overcome his disease, because the victory came from Jesus, not from human effort.
