Province of the Anglican Church of Burundi The Province was created in 1992 and is made up of nine dioceses - Buhiga, Bujumbura, Buye, Gitega, Makamba, Matana, Muyinga, Rumonge and Rutana.

Its vision is about sharing Gospel and impact society through works of love and compassion An Anglican presence was established in Burundi through the work of CMS in the 1930s and grew rapidly as a result of the East African Revival. Mission stations were established at Buhiga and Matana in 1935, and at Buye in 1936. Activities mainly focused on evangelism, education and medical work. Among the Ch

urch's main concerns today are peace and reconciliation, advocacy and empowerment, community development, health, literacy and financial education, theological training and education. The Church is fully committed to mission and evangelism.

Pâques a toujours été spéciale par son essence, les contextes de célébration l’ont été relativement tout autant, cette année le contexte sans doute est aussi particulier. La foi mise à l'épreuve par de multiples défis sociopolitiques et économiques, nos frères et sœurs en Christ dont la vie a été bouleversée par la guerre en Ukraine, les retombées négatives de cette crise pour le monde, soulèvent le questionnement du sens de la vie et laissent s’installer la peur du lendemain. Heureusement la réponse est claire et rassurante pour ceux qui croient, celui qui détient la vie et l’avenir est connu. Jésus a dit : « Je suis la résurrection et la vie » Jn 11 :25.

Bonne fête de Pâques, le Prince de la Paix est vivant.

Three localities of Buyengero, Burambi and Rumonge in the Anglican Diocese of Rumonge have been seriously affected by heavy rain that has devastated infrastructures and crops. 46 houses, 9 churches, 21 classrooms and various crops have been destroyed.
Prayers and support to the victims of this natural disaster are appreciated.

Dans l'habituelle uniforme "bleu-blanche", elles étaient là à Rumonge pour célébrer la journée internationale dédiée à la femme. They will serve in 57 parishes of the Anglican Diocese of Rumonge.

Church leaders, clergy members, Mothers'Union member and community of Gatumba in the Province of Bujumbura Rural have organised a rally to keep commhnity members awake reagrding the fight against gender based violence. Survivors of GBV shared encouranging testimonies of positive change and development they are experiencing in their households following the interventions of Mothers'Union programs.
At the same time, women and men who have benefited from services delivered by the "Safe House" celebrated the achievements accomplished to reset a new foundation built on love, trust and mutual understanding between married couples.

"Agissons immédiatement contre les violences faites aux femmes et aux filles."

Mothers' Union in partnership with Five Talents continues to help some of the most vulnerable in communities through the Literacy and Financial Education Programme.



Several thousand participants have completed their training and received their certificates. Some of them are now among community leaders, others have become facilitators of the program that trained them, and others are entrusted with roles in their churches.



Due to the savings and credit scheme participants are empowered to initiate income-generating activities. This sewing shop is one example. It is also providing training in sewing. Seven young people are being trained, six have already completed the training and 4 of them have set up their own shop.

The Anglican Church of Burundi has launched a modern vegetable garden in Gishambusha, a new site targeted by the Diocese of Muyinga to host an integrated program implemented by the Anglican Church of Burundi with the support of ERD.

The administrator of Gashoho commune urged the population to cultivate vegetable crops in order to fight against malnutrition. this project is carried out on a plot of 2 hectars
