DO NOT STOP MEETING TOGETHER - 18th July 2024
Here is a devotion with an excellent explanation of surrender to GOD which was sent to our whatsapp church group by one of the ladies this morning. We were unable to meet today because of the heavy rains flooding the roads but through Whatsapp we were all able to gather as one in His Spirit to encourage each other :-)

I WILL LEAD YOU INTO THE JOY OF SURRENDER.
He went a little further and bowed with His face to the ground, praying "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from Me. Yet I want Your will to be done, not Mine - JESUS (Matthew 26:39)

Some people suggest that string faith is defined by throwing your energies into begging Me for a miracle that will take away your suffering and then believing without doubting that I will do it. But faith is not measured by your ability to manipulate Me to get what you want.

What you want most is not to hear Me say yes to your requests. What you need is to be filled with such DEEP conviction in the character of your Father that when I say no to you, You KNOW I AM doing what is right and good for you. What you need most is the faith to TRUST Me.

As you bring your wants and pour them out before your Father, I will give you the courage you need to SURRENDER, so you say along with JESUS "I want Your will to be done, not mine "

"I'm beginning to believe that the joy of surrender to Your will is going to be worth whatever it may cost me "

BROKENHEARTED -Jeremiah 8 - 25th June 2024.

GOD is here for the brokenhearted.
Psalm 34
The righteous cry out and the LORD hears and delivers them out of their troubles. 18 The LORD is near to them that are of a broken heart and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalm 147:3
He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 61:1 -The Spirit of the LORD GOD is upon me ; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news unto the meet, He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

A heart for the broken was borne out from Isaiah 61:1 and began through various churches visiting a ladies prison in Bahrain.

WHAT BREAKS GOD'S HEART.

What breaks GOD's heart should in turn break ours because we are joined together in one Spirit.

Jeremiah the prophet is known as the weeping prophet. He had a heavy burden placed on him by GOD to plead for the people of Judah to repent.
“Jeremiah’s GOD given message was straightforward. GOD’s wrath against Judah could only be averted through a genuine repentance that would be reflected in their total lives.
BUT – verse 24 But they did not listen but walked in the counsels and the imagination of their evil heart and went backward and not forward.

JEREMIAH 8
Jeremiah 8:12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination ? no they were not ashamed, neither could they blush, therefore shall they fall among them that fall, in the time of their visitation they shall be CAST DOWN says the LORD.

IT IS TOO LATE.
20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are NOT SAVED.
Jeremiah weeping
18 When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint within me.
Jeremiah is overcome with grief for his people. As the passing of a harvest season that failed to produce fruit that gives rise to despair for the lack of the availability of food, so the passing of days without repentance in Judah made destruction inevitable. Jeremiah was dismayed and CRIED OUT for relief for his people because their sin wounds were incurable. (footnotes KJV)

21 Since my people (Judah) are crushed, I am crushed;
I mourn, and horror grips me. NIV

REPENTANCE IS THE BALM.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead ? (Gilead was known among the Ishmaelite’s for it’s healing balsam (Genesis 37:25).

Jeremiah is speaking about spiritual healing ; is there no physician there ? (If only they would turn to the Physician ) why then is not the health of the daughter (Judah) of my people recovered ? For the hurt of the daughter (Judah) of My people (Israel) – (no repentance, no healing).

Judah were on a road that led no where but to misery and destruction. Jeremiah knew this and was warning them of GOD’s wrath and brokenness for a stiff necked people but they would NOT LISTEN.

Disobedience breaks GOD’s heart.

SIN.
John 10
10 – The thief comes but to steal, kill and destroy, I come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
The thief that destroys is sin. Jeremiah pleads with them to TURN from their sin and be healed. They knew GOD’s commands but they did not live by them.

James 1:23 But be doers of the word and not only hearers deceiving yourselves. 24 For those who are hearers of the word but not doers are like a man seeing his face in a glass and straightaway forgetting what manner of man he is.

Meditate on GOD’s word to shape yourself, to grow in knowledge, love

LIVING SACRIFICE - 25th June 2024
Passion for where God's passion lies is what keeps us pressing on. Who are we doing it for ? Why are we doing it ? When we lose sight of this vision it becomes just works. When it is because JESUS is our First Love ❤️ it becomes a living sacrifice to GOD and to us
ROMANS 12:12.

OPERATION OVERLORD 80 YEARS ON.
My father Terence Burns was a part of this momentous D day in a well planned successful strategy called OPERATION OVERLORD that happened on 6th June 1944 in the sea and on the beaches of Normandy in France. He was part of the British Royal Navy and in the responsible role of a tele -operator on one of the small minesweepers among hundreds of boats of all shapes and sizes that sailed over from Britain in choppy seas from England to France.

The journey took over 5 hours with no guarantee of surviving. Dad landed up in the water after the minesweeper was hit and sunk quickly. Dad said it felt like hours treading water and he was just about to give up when a hook from a passing ship rescued him. He endured many nights of nightmares of his mates burning in the water.

Dad lived a troubled life mentally, the young hopeful marriage struggled with the return of a young broken and changed husband and ended after 15 years. There was very little support towards PTSD in his day. Even so he was a good loving

HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERMENT.

Without the grace of the Gospel through the Holy Spirit, it can't be done. For the flesh it is not possible to "go and sin no more." But, we have Holy Spirit empowerment, which is what feels good. We are not victims of the flesh, but victorious, in JESUS Name.
