Tonight, when the sun goes down, it's Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The Biblical name for the feast is Yom Teruah - the Day of the Trumpet. Yom Teruah is about a God who remembers his covenant and gathers his people to himself. Are you ready for his final ingathering?

What does it mean to have the heart of Ruth in our generation?

The prophet Isaiah foresaw a day when the nations would participate in the restoration of Israel, helping to bring God’s scattered people back to the land of their forefathers. Ruth gives us a beautiful picture of this heart: a Gentile woman who chose Israel’s people, Israel’s God, and Israel’s destiny.

The fivefold ministry was never meant to do all the ministry. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers are given by Jesus to equip every believer for the work of ministry and to build up the body of Messiah.

In this message, Sebastiaan Van Wessem traces the unfolding vision of Ephesians, from God’s plan to unite all things in Christ, to the creation of the one new man, and finally to a mature body in which every part is working properly.

The goal of fivefold ministry is not titles, platforms, or hierarchy. It is unity and maturity: a people firmly rooted in Christ, equipped to serve, able to resist every wind of doctrine, and growing together in love.

When the fivefold ministry functions as Jesus intended, the saints are equipped, and the body begins to build itself up.
