Ecclesiastes 4, Vanity & Gratitude

Ecclesiastes reminds us that chasing “more” is like chasing the wind — pure vanity.
We keep reaching for better, bigger, faster, richer… living in the land of -er, yet never finding rest for our souls.

But Scripture shows a different way.
It is better to have one hand open in gratitude than two hands full of striving.
When we stop comparing and stop grasping, we finally see the blessings already in our lives.

Let’s step out of the land of -er and choose contentment, simplicity, and thankful living — the place where God restores our peace.

Today we close with the beautiful and deeply moving testimony of Isis, who publicly declared her faith last Sunday through baptism at the beach.
Her story touched many hearts — to have walked through so much at such a young age, and yet to stand today with courage, clarity, and a renewed hope in Christ.

We thank God that He gently brought her to a place of surrender and restoration.
Now she can continue to grow in her personal relationship with God, rooted in His love and guided by His grace.

We rejoice with Isis and celebrate the new chapter God is writing in her life.

Today we want to share the beautiful testimony of Chaniqua, the daughter of Mwewa, who was also baptised this Sunday.
Her words touched our hearts as she shared how God has been working in her life, shaping her steps, strengthening her faith, and drawing her closer to Him.

Just like her mother’s story, Chaniqua’s testimony is a powerful reminder that God is at work in families, in generations, and in every heart that responds to His call.
Take a moment to watch her testimony — it will truly touch your heart.
To God be all the glory.

Today we celebrate the beautiful testimony of Mwewa, who was the second to be baptised this Sunday.
She shared how God has faithfully guided her to Belgium — step by step, door after door, grace upon grace.

Her story is powerful, sincere, and deeply encouraging.
If you haven’t watched her testimony yet, it is truly worth taking the time.
To God be all the glory.

What a joyful and unforgettable day we had!
Today was our baptism service, and we celebrated with so much gratitude. Jeff, Mwewa, Chaniqua and Isis publicly declared their faith — first through their powerful testimonies in church, and then through baptism at the beach.
If you would like to hear their stories, keep an eye on our GraceIBC page this week. Their testimonies were truly inspiring, and we pray many hearts will be touched.

Baptism Sunday – This Weekend!

We are excited to invite you to our Baptism Service this Sunday.
Right after the church service, we will gather together at the beach in De Haan to celebrate this beautiful step of faith.

Baptism is a public declaration of new life in Christ — a moment of joy, testimony, and thanksgiving.
Come and stand with our brothers and sisters as they take this meaningful step.

Everyone is warmly welcome to join us for this special celebration.

✨ Women’s Retreat Reflection – GIBC Women ✨

This Ascension weekend, the women of GIBC joined together with sisters from different churches, cultures, and languages for a beautiful and refreshing retreat. What united us was not only our faith, but also our shared desire to grow deeper in Christ and to encourage one another.

Our theme was drawn from Philippians 4:8, a powerful invitation to set our minds on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. Throughout the retreat, we reflected on how to guard our thoughts, how to choose God’s truth over worry, and how to cultivate a mindset that brings peace and spiritual strength.

It was a special time of fellowship — women praying together, worshipping together, sharing testimonies, and building friendships across languages: English, French, and Dutch. Every session reminded us that when we focus our thoughts on God’s goodness, our hearts become lighter and our steps become stronger.

We return home grateful, renewed, and encouraged to continue walking in the beauty of Philippians 4:8.
