ZCAN Executive Meeting held on 9th Nov. 2013 at ZCAN President Resident Dimapur (P.F Zeliang) and drafted the Association Constitution. And also discussed to call/held General meeting in the last week of January or first week of february 2014.

The Zeliangrong Catholic Lay Leaders and Regional Priests meet for formation of apex Zeliangrong Catholic body of Nagaland was held on August 31 at St. Paul’s Parish Centre, Peren. Parish priests and parish representatives from Peren, Jalukie Tening and leaders representing from in and around Dimapur and Kohima including women leaders from Zeliangrong Catholic Women Association (ZCWA), Nagaland, attended the meeting.

The meeting was presided by Letgong Patrick, Coordinator as the Chairperson and Dr. Ndangkie Ndang as the Recording Secretary.

The Coordinator stated in a press release that Rev. Fr. Anthony Samy, Parish Priest of St. Xavier Church, Jalukie pronounced the opening prayer while Rev. Fr. Kurian P.V. Parish priest of St. Paul Church, Peren who is the Animator of Regional Pastoral Council, Peren gave the welcoming address.

Ernest Sephe pronounced vote of thanks. Rev. Fr. Adani James, Parish Priest of SFS Church Tening pronounced the concluding prayer. Rev. Fr. Joshua Rongmei SDB, Principal, DBHSS, Dimapur led the participants in prayer to partake the community meal at the end of the meeting.

Besides other resolutions, the house unanimously resolved and formally formed an apex Zeliangrong Catholic body with a nomenclature, “Zeliangrong Catholic Association, Nagaland (ZCAN)”. Office Bearers for a term of 3(three) years were elected with president-PF Zeliang; Vice President-CH Kangba Andrew; General Secretary-DT Haideu Anthony; Joint Secretary-Kidongam Victor Panmei; Social & Cultural secretary DM Agay Joseph and Treasurer Aloibe Alex; Advisory Committee Kevipelie paul Iheilung, Mathew Chandy, and Ringam Thomas.
