Shaheedi geven is de hoogste eer en het ultieme offer dat een Sikh kan brengen: het opofferen van je leven voor waarheid, rechtvaardigheid en geloof. Het is geen moment van rouw, maar een triomf van waarheid over onrecht, een krachtig symbool van ultieme moed en onbaatzuchtigheid. Het lichaam mag sterven, maar de geest en de boodschap leven voor altijd voort.
