Assembly for Worship: Sunday 10h15 - you are welcome! There is a New Testament model for what a church (an 'ekkesia') can be. Sometimes people make more of that model or pattern, than is helpful... making connection to that entity the channel to 'salvation'. We believe it is the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross that connects us via grace to the salvation God offers "to everyone". If we have connected with 'that' we belong to God's church, the one Jesus told Peter he was going to build on his confession that Jesus is the Messiah (Christ*) the son of the God who is alive.
* (the 'messiah' was the saviour the Jews had been waiting for for centuries, at the promise of Yahweh-God, through the pens and mouths of the prophets )
We invite you to call with your questions (or message, or email). Or, better yet, feel free and comfortably welcome to be with us for a Sunday gathering --- an "assembly"* for worship and fellowship.
* (though it sometimes slips out, we steer away from the traditional description of a "worship service"; our service to God is meant to be much more that the ritual of a once-a-week gathering... but the encouragement we try to be and give for each other, when we gather, is part of that.) We are trying together to become the spiritual beings that God calls us to be. His 'invitation' was not cheap for him, but it is free to us. (Note: if some of things we are saying here sound familiar, it might be because they reflect sentences or descriptions of Christian life and practice that you have read in your own Dutch or English Bible. That's our handbook. )
