CEC General Secretary Rev. Frank-Dieter Fischbach joined the 16th Assembly of the European Christian Environmental Network (ECEN), held in Brussels from 29 August to 2 September.

Under the theme “Renewing our passion for creation in a time of trial”, the Assembly focused on care for creation, climate justice and environmental responsibility.

Speaking on a panel, Fischbach highlighted the developing cooperation between CEC and ECEN as ECEN begins its work as an independent organisation. He underlined the importance of ecumenical cooperation on climate change, biodiversity and other environmental concerns.

CEC will continue to support ECEN, including in its engagement with EU institutions in Brussels, while exploring new ways to work together on environmental issues.
