Wish may all sentenbeing be happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperity on this auspicious occasion of “Lhabab Duchhen’’.

“Lord Buddha never put much emphasison belief. Instead, he exhorted us to investigate and try to understand the reality of our own being. He never stressed that we had to know what he was, what a buddha is. All he wanted was for us to understand our own nature. Isn’t that so simple? We don’t have to believe in anything. Simply by making the right effort, we understand things through our own experience, and gradually develop all realizations.”

Happy Saga Dawa Month)
from 20th May- 19th June, 2023.

Vesak, also known as Saga Dawa, is an important month in the Buddhist calendar that is widely celebrated by Buddhists around the world. It commemorates three significant events in the life of Gautama Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana (passing away).

Vesak takes place on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month, which usually falls in May or June. However, in some Buddhist traditions, the entire lunar month is considered as Vesak month, and various activities and observances are carried out throughout this period.

During Vesak, Buddhists engage in a range of religious and spiritual practices to pay homage to the Buddha and his teachings. Temples and homes are adorned with colorful decorations, and the atmosphere is filled with devotion and reverence. People gather at Buddhist temples to participate in prayer sessions, meditate, and listen to sermons on the life and teachings of the Buddha.

One of the most notable customs during Vesak is the practice of giving. Buddhists make charitable donations to the less fortunate, including the poor, elderly, and those in need. This act of generosity is considered a way of cultivating compassion and kindness, following the example set by the Buddha.

Another important aspect of Vesak is the practice of observing ethical precepts. Buddhists strive to adhere to the Five Precepts, which include refraining from killing, stealing, engaging in sexual misconduct, lying, and consuming intoxicants. Observing these precepts is seen as a means to purify one's mind and cultivate wholesome qualities.

Vesak is also marked by colorful processions, where devotees carry Buddhist flags, flowers, and illuminated lanterns. These processions symbolize the spiritual journey towards enlightenment and serve as a way to share the teachings of the Buddha with the wider community.

In addition to the religious practices, Vesak often includes cultural activities that celebrate Buddhist heritage. Traditional dances, music performances, and dramas based on the life of the Buddha are staged to entertain and educate the public about the Buddha's life and teachings.

Vesak is a time of reflection and spiritual renewal for Buddhists. It is an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Dharma (the Buddha's teachings) and to recommit themselves to the path of liberation and awakening. The month-long observances of Vesak serve as a reminder of the timeless wisdom and compassion of the Buddha and inspire Buddhists to lead virtuous lives filled with kindness and compassion.

Vesak month (Saga Dawa) holds immense significance for Buddhists worldwide, as it celebrates the life and teachings of the Buddha and provides a platform for spiritual growth, charity, and cultural expression. It is a time of joy, devotion, and unity as Buddhists come together to honor their spiritual heritage and strive for enlightenment.

(month of Descending from Tush*ta Heaven).

From today, 26/10/22 till 23/11/22 the month is consider as one of the auspiciousness months of the year. Actual descending day falls on the 22nd day of the ninth month of the Lunar calendar, Lord Buddha returns back to earth from heaven.

7 days after Lord Buddha was born his mother passed away and after his enlightenment at age of 35 he realized that his mother was born in Tush*ta heaven (the realm of divas), which is still part of Samsara (the cycle of birth, death and rebirth). He went there to teach his mother when he was 41 years old so she could break free from Samsara because he wanted to repay her kindness towards him. Today is the day when he came back to earth from visiting his mother. On this day all effects of our actions, positive and negative, are multiplied millions and millions of times.

Please do virtuous things and be kind to each other.

Tayetha Om Muni Muni Maha Muni Shacha Muni Ye Shava Ha

May all of us repay the kindness of our mother. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

(month of Wheel Turning Day) - 1st August - 27th August, 2022.

This month is one of greatest and auspicious month which is related to Buddha. On this month, 6th month of lunar calendar, the Buddha Shakyamuni first taught the four noble truths in Sarnath, India, and first turned the wheel of the dharma.

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻First Sermon of Lord Buddha falls on 4th day of 6th Lunar Month)🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

The 4th Day of the Sixth Month in lunar calendar marks this auspicious occasion. The day marks the first teachings by Lord Buddha on Four Noble Truths (Turning of Wheel of the Dharma), when Buddha was 35 years old.

For the first seven weeks after his Enlightenment, Buddha Shakyamuni did not teach. After he had attained enlightenment he went in search of his five former friends who were still pursuing ascetic practices. He told them he had finally found the Enlightenment they had been seeking.

At first they were not confident but they listened. Encouraged by Indra and Brahma, the Buddha then gave his first teachings on the Four Noble Truths.

The Four Noble Truths have remained the basis of all traditions of Buddhism. The Buddha talked all through the night and when morning came, these first five students took refuge in the Three Jewels; the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha.

Together with the Buddha, they became the first members of the Sangha, the community of practitioners who follow the teachings of the Buddha. Choekhor Düchen commemorates this first sermon and is called the Festival of the First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma, one of the four major holidays of the Buddhist Calendar.
