The Birth of Jesus and His Role as Our Redeemer
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today we will reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ and why He came as our Redeemer. Christmas is not merely a celebration; it is the revelation of God’s great love for humanity. The Bible says:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.” (John 3:16)
1. The Birth of Jesus — God’s Divine Plan
The birth of Jesus was not an accident; it was part of God’s eternal plan.
Prophecy:
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son.” (Isaiah 7:14)
Fulfillment:
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you.” (Luke 1:35)
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, not in a palace but in a manger.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you.” (Luke 2:11)
👉 This shows that God comes to the humble, not to the proud.
2. Why Jesus Came — The Need for Salvation
The Bible declares:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Sin separated humanity from God, but God did not abandon us.
Jesus came to save us from sin
“You are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)
He came as the Light of the world
“The people living in darkness have seen a great light.” (Matthew 4:16)
3. Jesus — Our Redeemer
Jesus did not come only as a baby; He came as our Redeemer.
His Sacrifice:
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross.” (1 Peter 2:24)
The Only Way:
“I am the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)
Through His death on the cross and His resurrection, we receive freedom from sin, fear, and death.
Dear friends,
The message of Christmas is clear—God loves us and came to save us.
The question for us today is:
Have we received Jesus into our hearts?
“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
👉 Let us receive Jesus by faith and walk in the new life of salvation He gives.
Amen.
