One Sunday morning, a young boy entered church carrying torn shoes and an old Bible. Many people looked at him and whispered because of how poor he looked. As the service continued, the pastor asked everyone to greet the person next to them.
An elderly woman walked to the boy, smiled warmly, and said, “Welcome to God’s house. You are important here.” The boy almost cried because no one had spoken kindly to him in a long time.
Years later, that same boy became a pastor. During one sermon he said:
“I stayed in church not because of the beautiful building or powerful sound system, but because one person showed me the love of Christ.”
Sometimes the greatest sermon is not preached from the pulpit it is shown through kindness, love, and acceptance.
📖📖By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
