The Pro-Life Movement: Encouragement and the Biblical Perspective
The Pro-Life movement champions the value, dignity, and protection of human life from the moment of conception. The Bible strongly upholds this view of life.
The Biblical View of Human Life
The Bible teaches that human life is a sacred gift with infinite worth because humanity is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).
1. God's Intimate Knowledge of the Unborn
The Bible is clear that the pre-born child is not merely a mass of tissue, but a fully known person in God's sight.
Psalm 139:13-16: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my motherâs womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made... Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."
Encouragement: These verses prove that God knows, creates, and has a plan for us from conception. Just as He has a purpose for your life, He has one for every unborn child.
Jeremiah 1:5: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Encouragement: God ordains a great destiny for every personâlong before birth. Protecting life means honoring God's divine purpose.
2. The Command to Choose and Defend Life
God commands us to choose life over death and encourages us to speak up for those who cannot defend themselves.
Deuteronomy 30:19: "I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live."
Encouragement: Choosing life is not just a passive stance, but an active command. By protecting life, we choose blessings for ourselves and future generations.
Proverbs 31:8-9: "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
Encouragement: The unborn are the "speechless" in our society. The Pro-Life movement is a calling to champion their rights with justice and compassion.
Motivational Message for the Pro-Life Movement
Lead with Compassion and Love: Being Pro-Life is more than opposition; it is active support. Extend mercy, love, and practical help to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. Let them know they are not alone.
Focus on the Heart: While working to change laws and policies, pray for a change of heart in society regarding the value of life. The Word of God is the most powerful agent for transformation.
Stand Courageously: In a world that often dismisses the smallest among us, you are called to stand firm with courage and love to defend life, just as biblical heroes championed the vulnerable.
Your commitment to defending life is immensely valuable in the eyes of God.
