New App Allows Chat Without Internet
A new messaging app is making headlines because it allows people to send messages without using the internet or mobile data. The app works through Bluetooth technology, connecting nearby smartphones to create a communication network.
One of the most discussed apps is Bitchat, linked to tech entrepreneur Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter.
How the App Works
Instead of relying on Wi-Fi or cellular networks, the app uses a Bluetooth mesh network. Messages move from one device to another until they reach the receiver.
If users are within 50–100 meters, messages can be sent directly.
If they are farther apart, the message can travel through other nearby phones that have the app installed.
