About – A Tribute to Hazrat Sufi Sheikh Morshed Alam (RA)
In the divine journey of time, some souls descend to this world not just to live, but to awaken others, to reflect divine light, and to guide the lost toward truth. Hazrat Sufi Sheikh Morshed Alam (RA) was one such soul — a man whose presence was both thunder and mercy, whose words were sharp like lightning yet cool like the moonlight of a
Sufi's silent night. Born on April 4, 1956, to the noble parents Late Abdul Kader Sheikh (RA) and Late Amena Khatun (RA), he was destined not just to live a worldly life, but to walk the path of the Awliya — the beloved friends of Allah. His departure from this earthly realm took place on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at 3:45 PM, corresponding to 11 Poush 1425 (Bengali) and 17 Rabi’ al-Thani 1440 (Hijri). Yet for those who truly knew him, he never truly "passed" — he merely veiled himself from the zahiri eyes, and remains ever-present in ruhani remembrance. From his earliest days, Sheikh Morshed Alam (RA) showed signs of fierce honesty, unshakable integrity, and a heart that leaned toward the unseen. Though he lived among common people, he bore the soul of a dervish and the courage of a warrior. As a devout lover (ashiq) and follower of Hazrat Dayal Gafur Shah (Gafur Malobi) (RA), he did not just show respect in ritual, but lived the very essence of sohbat — the spiritual companionship that refines the soul. He was a man of contrasts — with a heart full of softness, but a tongue that feared none when it came to truth. He did not flatter nor deceive. And what he meant, he said without hesitation. This made him both respected and feared, both loved and remembered by those who came near. As a father, he was both the banyan tree and the storm, giving shade and shelter, but also discipline and correction. His love came wrapped in firmness, and his guidance bore the fragrance of experience and divine alignment. He believed in raising his children not just as sons and daughters, but as bearers of dignity, honesty, and service. His lifestyle reflected the clean, organized nature of a Sufi who knows that cleanliness is not just about body or home — it is the fragrance of the soul. He was known for his elegant attire, composed movements, and landlord-like presence, not out of pride, but to honor the dignity Allah bestows upon His beloved ones. Fear? He knew none, for he feared only Allah. He walked freely, without hiding, without deception. His path was open, like his words. In the affairs of the village, he was no ordinary man. His thoughts were ahead of his time. He believed in progress, but not at the cost of values. His involvement in rural development was marked by strategic thinking, people-centric action, and unwavering truthfulness. He did not serve to be praised — he served because it was in his blood, in his ruh, in his pledge to his murshid and to his Creator. Today, as we — his children, his family, his neighbors — walk the path without his physical presence, we feel the shadow missing. The coolness of his glance, the power of his voice, the sharpness of his advice — it echoes in our memory, but not in our ears. And yet, everywhere we go, especially when we visit his land, his home, we hear people speak his name—not with formality, but with warmth, like a tree whose fruits still nourish long after the trunk is gone. This page stands as a living tribute to Hazrat Sufi Sheikh Morshed Alam (RA) — not to mourn him, but to continue his message. His message was not written in books, but lived in action. It was not framed in lectures, but spoken in every step he took, every truth he uttered, every hand he helped, and every injustice he faced without bending. Our mission here is simple:
To preserve and share his spiritual legacy,
To spread the values he lived by — truth, courage, service, faith, and love for all creation,
To inspire those who walk in darkness to follow a path lit by sincerity and trust in Allah. He believed that a man is not known by what he claims, but by what he endures in silence,
That love for Allah must reflect in how we treat His creation,
And that no falsehood, no matter how sweet, can ever replace the bitter but beautiful truth. To many, he was a father. To some, a mentor. To others, a strange but noble man. But to all, he was a symbol of fearlessness, of faith, of firmness, and of deep inner purity. In his memory, we offer a thousand salams,
And in his absence, we seek to live by his example. For a soul like his is not bound by time or space — it leaves behind a scent, a vibration, a guidance that reaches beyond the grave. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala envelop him in mercy,
May his maqam be raised among the awliya,
And may his ruh continue to inspire the generations who walk this path. "To speak the truth is not arrogance. To live with honor is not pride. To love Allah with tears in your eyes is not weakness — it is wilayat."
