Today we were able to help 383 people in total including 25 packets of milk for babies and infants. Our dedicated and committed staff at the church make sure we assist everyone who comes to us on a Thursday. As always, ingredients are locally sourced food and this week we offered tehari, chicken & egg curry.

The Michael Martin Food Assistance Program continues to be a vital service for the near neighborhood community around the church in Dhaka. All of us who are involved with the program are very happy to be able to return to the local community and help in whatever small way we can.

Սիրելի բարեպաշտ ժողովուրդ,
​Այսօր Հայաստանում և սփյուռքի համայնքներում ոգեկոչում ենք Օսմանյան կայսրությունում իրականացված Հայոց ցեղասպանության մեր սուրբ նահատակների հիշատակը, ովքեր անմահացան՝ իրենց հոգիներում անմար պահելով սերն առ Քրիստոս և առ հայրենին։

Ապրիլի 24-ը խորհրդանշորեն ամփոփում է մեր ժողովրդի հավաքական տառապանքը, որի մեջ խտացված են մեկ և կես միլիոն մարտիրոսացյալ հայորդիների, հայրենակորույս, տարագիր ազգիս զավակների, մշակութային եղեռնի ենթարկված մեր վանքերի ու եկեղեցիների, ավիրված բնակավայրերի հիշողությունները։ Այդ ողբերգությունը, սակայն, չկոտրեց մեր ազգի ոգին։ Մեր ժողովուրդը վերապրեց ցեղասպանությունը, ամենուր նոր կյանք վերընձյուղեց, վերահաստատեց հայոց անկախ պետականությունը։

Ապրիլի 24-ն ուխտի օր է՝ միահյուսված աշխարհասփյուռ մեր ժողովրդի պահանջատիրությանը, որը զերծ է թշնամանքից ու ատելությունից, ուղղված է արդարության ու ճշմարտության վերականգնմանը և ցեղասպանության արհավիրքի ուրացման բացառմանը։

Ցեղասպանության աղետալի դեպքերից հարյուրամյակ անց, երբ թվում էր, թե նման սոսկալի հանցագործությունները մնացել են անցյալում, ցավոք, նոր ցեղասպան գործողություններով հայաթափվեց Արցախը, բռնությամբ տեղահանվեցին ավելի քան 120.000 արցախցիներ։ Այս ծանր կացության և առկա սպառնալիքների հանդիման, մեր նահատակների զոհողությունը մեզ պարտավորեցնում է ամրապնդել մեր միաբանությունն ու համերաշխությունը և հզորացնել հայոց պետությունը։ Հիրավի, համազգային միասնականությամբ է, որ կարող կլինենք արդյունավորելու ջանքերը Հայոց ցեղասպանության համընդհանուր ճանաչման և արգասավորելու քայլերն ու նախաձեռնությունները՝ հանուն ազգային առաջընթացի և խաղաղ ու անվտանգ կյանքի։

Աղոթենք և հայցենք, որ մեր նահատակ սրբերի բարեխոսությամբ խաղաղության երկնային շնորհները և մեր Տեր Հիսուս Քրիստոսի ողորմությունն ու սերը բաշխվեն համայն աշխարհին, մեր հայրենիքին և ժողովրդին այսօր և միշտ. ամեն:

Get • For the first time, following the completion of its exterior facade, the Armenian American Museum will illuminate the building on Friday, April 24, 2026 in remembrance of the 1.5 million Armenians who were systematically massacred by the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1923.

This inaugural lighting stands as a defining milestone in the museum’s journey from vision to reality, a structure developing in form and, more importantly, in purpose.

The museum will be cast in red, a color that carries the weight of memory and the pulse of survival. Red reflects the blood of the innocent lives lost, but it also burns with resilience, with continuity, and with the enduring spirit of a people who refused to be erased. It is a color that does not fade quietly. It insists. It remembers.

“In red, we remember. In light, we continue. This illumination reflects our mission to transform remembrance into education, to preserve the truth of our past, and to ensure that future generations carry it forward with knowledge and purpose,” stated Executive Chairman Berdj Karapetian. “As the building glows, it transforms into more than architecture. It becomes a beacon. It is a signal that remembrance is alive, that truth endures, and that even in darkness, there is a refusal to disappear.”

This first illumination marks a tribute and a threshold into a new chapter of visibility, presence, and purpose for the Armenian American Museum. As a developing institution, the museum reaffirms its commitment to honoring the past through education, cultural preservation, and storytelling that carries forward the voices history tried to silence. 🇦🇲

Get • On April 24, we mourn and honor the loss of our 1.5 million martyrs who died during the Armenian Genocide. Today, Armenians worldwide pause to reflect on the atrocities of the time and the painful realities we continue to face as a people. We must not forget the past as we forge into the future and reaffirm our commitment to our identity as global Armenians.

Today is World Heritage Day also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites, and we couldn’t let this occasion pass without featuring our own beautiful heritage building.

The Armenian Church in Dhaka, Bangladesh was built in 1781, and although it is not yet recognised as an official heritage site by UNESCO, the church holds an enormous amount of cultural history and legacy, and we think it is important to highlight its longevity.

Two hundred and forty five years ago a small community came together and the foundations of our church were laid. 245 years later it still stands. A testament to the Armenian communities throughout those years whose lives were centred around this Christian place of worship. More recently, in the 1990s, it came within a hair’s breadth of permanent ruin and destruction. But for one stubborn, tenacious yet wholly remarkable Armenian, Mr. Michael Martin, the church would have become history itself; something you could have read about in books, but not seen for yourself.

Fortunately, we find ourselves in the happy and privileged position of knowing the church has been able to put that difficult period in the past solely because of the rescue and actions of Mr. Martin. Our present Warden and committee are using that legacy to ensure the continuation of our church and we are all focused on our long-term goals of preservation, conservation, education and most important of all an Armenian legacy in this part of Asia like no other.

On Friday April 17th 2026 our church hosted a late Easter Mass conducted by The Church of Bangladesh. The service was led by Father Samson Mazumdar, Father Srijon and Brother Guillaume respectively. It was very well attended with over 150 participating, and refreshments being offered afterwards.

Ապրիլի 16-ին Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսն ընդունեց Իսպանիայից ժամանած գործարարների՝ ուղեկցությամբ Իսպանիայի Հայկական Բարեգործական Ընդհանուր Միության (ՀԲԸՄ) և Իսպանիայի Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու եկեղեցական խորհրդի ատենապետ տիար Լևոն Գրիգորյանի։
Հանդիպման ընթացքում պատվիրակության անդամները նշեցին, որ Հայաստան այցի նպատակն է երկու երկրների միջև գործնական կապերի ընդլայնումն ու տնտեսական համագործակցության զարգացումը։ Հյուրերը, հայցելով Նորին Սրբության օրհնությունը, առանձնակի կարևորությամբ ընդգծեցին, որ Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին իրենց այցելությունը պայմանավորված է հայ և իսպանացի ժողովուրդների միջև ձևավորված պատմական, հոգևոր և մշակութային կապերով, ինչպես նաև ընդհանուր քրիստոնեական արժեքներով։
Վեհափառ Հայրապետը ողջունեց և իր օրհնությունը բերեց ներկաներին՝ հաջողություններ ու բարի արդյունավորում մաղթելով նրանց ծրագրերին և նախաձեռնություններին, որոնք կնպաստեն հայ և իսպանացի ժողովուրդների բարեկամական հարաբերությունների ամրապնդմանն ու փոխճանաչողության խորացմանը։

There will be an Easter Mass held at 5pm tomorrow, Friday April 17th 2026 at our church conducted by The Church of Bangladesh. It will be led by Father Samson Mazumdar, Father Srijon and Brother Guillaume respectively. This will be followed by some light refreshments. All are welcome.
