আশেপাশে তাকালেই দেখতে পাব কতজন বৈষয়িক অর্জনের জন্য একে অপরের সাথে যুদ্ধে লিপ্ত। তারাই আত্মার প্রশান্তির জন্য সময় পেলে আশ্রয় নেয় মাদকের জগতে। কিন্তু সেখানেও শান্তি না পেয়ে পাগলের মত শান্তির খোঁজে হন্যে হয়ে ঘুরে বেড়াতে থাকে। একসময় সব আশা ছেড়ে দিয়ে সে আ-ত্ম-হ-ত্যা-র পথ বেছে নেয়।
