Ferhat Pasha Mosque, or Ferhadija, the most famous mosques in Banja Luka. It was built in 1579 by the ransom received by the Bosnian Sanjak-bey Ferhat Pasha Sokolovic head Herbert VIII Turjaški (nem. Herbert VIII Auersperg) in the classical Ottoman style and is one of the most successful architectural achievements in this area in the 16th century. Its architect is unknown, but it is known that he was a disciple of the Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan.

In the complex Ferhadija were also there, and 3 tombs: Ferhat Pasha, his granddaughter Safikadune and its bearers, iron and stone fence with a fountain on the corner, a fountain and an old cemetery in the garden. Later, the complex is completed with a clock tower built near the Ferhadija. The mosque was 18m wide, 14m long, and the top of the dome was 18m high. The minaret was 43m high. Ferhadija was included in the cultural heritage of the Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1950.
05.07.1993 was razed to the ground!

We open a page with one goal, to help the reconstruction of religious buildings in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
What are we to say neglected by the authorities.
During the war in Bosnia (1992-1995) was overthrown and destroyed 614 mosques (534 Serbs and 80 mosques).
Help the work site, in the coming period we will begin charity work, thank you.
