THE AWARENESS OF MIND STATES
Introductory class: Sunday 26 April from 1.30 - 3 pm
In this 5-week introductory series, ‘The Path to Knowing and Making Sense of this World’ with Angela Scherma, explore ancient teachings on impermanence, patience, kindness, compassion and great love.
Based on 'Essence of the Path to Enlightenment by the renowned scholar, Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden, we discuss topics that illuminate the nature of mind, supported by weekly meditative practices.
This week we focus on mind and its potential, using meditation to deepen awareness of the states of mind that bring happiness to self and others.
According to Buddhist teachings, positive states of mind align with our innate human potential, and when we reinforce them there comes a time you can’t unlearn them. Negative states of mind, however habitual, can be removed.
