Lakeside Community Church Yungaburra

Lakeside Community Church Yungaburra We are a ministry of the Atherton Tablelands Baptist Church. Lakeside Community Church Yungaburra is not a building.

Our church is a group of Christian believers who are bonded together through the belief that Jesus Christ is God’s son. We believe that in dying, he took on our sin to make things right between God and us. One of the main differences between Christianity and other religions is that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He is as alive and real today as he was 2000 years ago, having a positive impact on

the lives of those who love him and accept him. It is important to note that we are certainly not perfect, but as a group of believers, seek to support each other, with God’s help through the Holy Spirit.

The battle has been won. Victory is secured.

At the empty tomb (Matthew 28:1–7), we see the power of Jesus’ final words—“It is finished.” What He accomplished on the cross is complete, and its impact continues today.

The resurrection speaks:
• The rolled-away stone says heaven has revealed the victory.
• The shining angel says the work is pure, powerful, and complete.
• The trembling guards say fear has lost its authority.
• “Do not be afraid” says peace is now your portion.
• “He is not here” says death is defeated.
• “As He said” says His every promise can be trusted.
• “He is going before you” says you are not alone—and never will be.

When it still feels dark, God is already at work—because dawn always comes. The stone wasn’t moved so Jesus could get out, but so we could see what had already been done.

Because the crucified Jesus is also the risen Jesus, your salvation is unshakeable. Your struggles don’t cancel it. Your weakness doesn’t rewrite it.

This is the new dawn—built on Christ’s faithfulness, not ours.

“And by his one perfect sacrifice he made us perfectly holy and complete for all time!” — Hebrews 10:14 (TPT)

Sometimes we need to be 'socked' by the reality of our own sin before we truly understand the beauty of the Gospel.

In Sunday’s message from 1 Timothy 1:12–17, Ps Jeff spoke on Socked by Your Sins – Gateway to the Gospel.”

Before Paul encountered Jesus, he was confident he was doing the right thing. He lived under the law and believed he was righteous. But when he came face-to-face with Christ, everything changed. The persecutor of Christians became a humbled servant of Jesus.

The law in the Old Testament acts like a mirror—showing us the truth about our hearts and our need for God. As Romans 3:19–20 reminds us, the law reveals our sin, but the Gospel brings salvation.

When we truly encounter Jesus, our relationship with sin changes. What once seemed acceptable no longer sits right with us, and our hearts begin to turn toward God in humility and repentance.

Through the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, God brings forgiveness, humility, repentance, and the gift of new life.

Orderly Family – God’s Cosmic Intention

God’s design for the family was never accidental.
It reflects His order, His love, and His plan for spiritual health.

When families drift from God’s design, churches weaken.
When homes are restored, faith flourishes.

“If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?” — 1 Timothy 3:5

Let’s return to God’s order — rooted in love, responsibility, and Christ-like sacrifice.

👨‍👦 True Son in the Faith
📖 1 Timothy 1:1–6 (NLT)

There is something powerful about the love between a father and a son. Today, during our service, we were reminded that Paul called Timothy his “true son in the faith.” It wasn’t just a title — it was a relationship, mentoring, love, and spiritual investment.

Paul, the apostle whose life was radically changed on the road to Damascus (Acts 9), took Timothy under his wing. He modelled faith so closely that he could say, “Imitate me” (1 Corinthians 4:17). That’s influence. That’s legacy.

The world needs good spiritual men.
The church needs good spiritual men.

It’s not too late to:
• Tell your son or daughter you love them
• Be present
• Pray together
• Start again

Our instruction, as Paul wrote, is this — that we would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.

Let’s love Jesus above every relationship in this world.
Let’s love God. Love others. Love well.

Worship is more than singing (though we love to lift our voices!). True biblical worship is a whole-life response — total obedience, reverence, and surrender to Jesus Christ.

📖 Romans 12:1 reminds us to offer our lives as living sacrifices.
📖 Psalm 95:6 calls us to bow in reverence before our Maker.

When we gather as the body of Christ, we gather to:
• Encourage one another (Hebrews 10:24–25)
• Grow together in love and good works
• Function as one body (Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12)
• Exercise our spiritual gifts
• Worship collectively and remain grounded in truth

There is no such thing as a lone ranger Christian. We need one another.

Let’s keep encouraging one another in our love for Jesus — and living lives of wholehearted worship.

What is the primary purpose of gathering as the body of Christ?

It’s more than attendance.
It’s more than music.
It’s more than routine.

We gather to:
✨ Spur one another on toward love and good works
✨ Grow together in spiritual maturity
✨ Encourage and strengthen each other
✨ Share in authentic worship
✨ Guard against false teaching
✨ Function as one body with many parts

Nearly all of these instructions come from letters written by Paul to the early churches — pastoral encouragement filled with wisdom for leadership, unity, and faithfulness.

The Bible truly does provide answers for Christian life and worship.

Gathering provides essential community, mutual teaching, accountability, and the shared experience of Christ’s presence.

Let’s continue building one another up and walking faithfully together.

Know God. Know peace.
No God. No peace.

Peace is not something we chase.
Peace is Someone we know.

When Jesus said, “It is finished,” the battle was over.
The barrier was removed.
The debt was paid.

Because of His finished work, we don’t strive — we rest.
We don’t perform — we receive.
We don’t negotiate — we commune.

To know God as He has revealed Himself in Jesus is to know peace.

Reflect on John chapter 19.

Prayer – An Essential Aspect of How We Live

George Müller lived this truth. He never asked people for financial help, never took a fixed salary — he simply brought his needs to God in prayer. Time and again, God provided.

Andrew Murray called prayerlessness a deep spiritual issue — a matter of the heart. Scripture reminds us that God looks at the heart (Jeremiah 29:12–13; Romans 12:1–2). If we want to know Him, we must spend time with Him.

To know someone, you must be with them.

George Muller lived this truth. He never asked people for financial help, never took a fixed salary — he simply brought his needs to God in prayer. Time and again, God provided.

Prayer really works.

But we don’t become prayerful by trying harder in our own strength. Andrew Murray reminds us: "Stay connected. Stay dependent. Stay near Jesus. at the feet of the Lord Jesus, and wait upon Him in the sure confidence that He is with you, and works in you."

The enemy will distract us. The world will compete for our attention. But a prayerless life often reflects unbelief and dependence on our old nature.

Let us be people of prayer like Paul (Romans 1:9–10; Ephesians 1:16).
Let us seek Him daily.
Let us be students of His Word (Matthew 4:4).

Prayer is essential to our life.
Stay connected. Stay dependent. Stay close to Jesus.
