Dear Followers and Friends of Yagoona Baptist Church,
If you noticed, we haven't posted anything in the last 28 days. That is because YBC has cocooned itself, undergoing a growth change, a church replant. Allow us to explain.
While some people think of cocoons as a resting place, there's no resting going on inside. To the contrary, there's a lot of activity inside the cocoon and the chrysalis. A caterpillar is transforming into a new creature. This requires that the old caterpillar body be broken down and turned into something new. Think of it as insect recycling! (Scientific American).
Similarly, YBC is currently on its resting and "recycling" stage. We held our last service on August 18, 2019 but we have not been inactive. We have people opening their homes where we still congregate and hear God's Word and fellowship with one another, as we continue to worship our Lord-- the Alpha and Omega of all life. We held such a one in the last two Sundays. We also hold triple P meetings with our new replant brethren whom we will be worshipping with on our first launch in October 20, 2019. (Triple P is Prayer, Planning and Pizza. 😊🙏 👍 🍕)
In addition to that, a working Transitional Team has been formed consisting of two YBC members, three leaders of the Baptist organization, and two other members of Crest Baptist. This is the team that is combing through the organizational minutiae of birthing our new church-- the new butterfly, if you will, and establishing Graceway Church.
Yes, Graceway Church.
A combination of two words that mark every Christian's way of life: God's Grace that dots every second of our existence and being here on earth and thereafter, and Way -- as we encourage other people to believe in Jesus Who is the Way, the Truth, the Life.
For those of you who have been friends and followers of our posts here on Facebook these past few years, please say a prayer for us as we move where God is truly leading us. Pray for wisdom, guidance, and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit that we may serve as Christ served.
God bless!
