What a beautiful reminder from the lesson this week. God will fight for you.

In all my years of hearing the story of the Red Sea crossing I am not sure why I never heard a part of the story I just discovered this week. It isn't in any of the story books and I think it is a huge part of the story that should be included.

The Israelites are trapped against the Red Sea as the Egyptian army approaches. Jesus himself, moved behind his people as the cloud and placed a barrier between the Isrealites and Eygptians. All night He stayed there.

God tells Moses to lift up his staff and God would divide the sea for them to cross. The Israelites cross safely to the other side.
The Egyptians were able to see where the Isrealites had gone and followed across the floor of the Red Sea.

It is here that I learnt something new. Exodus 14:24-25.
24 But just before dawn the Lord looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud, and he threw their forces into total confusion. 25 He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive. “Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!” the Egyptians shouted. “The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt!” (NLT)

Jesus never leaves our side. Not then and not now. All the way through the wilderness Jesus led them and protected them by being their pillar of cloud during the day and their pillar of fire during the night.

It is from this pillar that He looks down and ACTIVELY becomes engaged int he protection of His children. "He threw their forces into total confusion" "He twisted their chariot wheels"
God has never been a God of distance. He is a God that loves intimacy and closeness.

This is the same God that has been active in my life even when I have wandered and taken life choices into my own hands. His love is so deep and so wide that nothing can stop him from fighting for you.

It doesn't matter where you are today. God loves you. He wants you to come to him and get that hug that you need. He will meet you where you are and lift you up to where you belong.

What an amazing God we serve.

Wow what a year we have had. I cannot believe that we are at our sixth Sports Night of the year. As this is our last one for 2025, we really would love to see everyone there.

Come along this Saturday evening to Somerset Recreation Centre, Cnr Arthur and Beaufort Streets, Somerset. 6pm start and only $2 entry per person.

Be sure to bring your family, friends and anyone who likes to socialise and exercise. Hope to see you there.

How blessed we are on the North West Coast of Tasmania. Wynyard SDA Church has been a proud partner with Adventist Education on the North West Coast. It is with great joy that the North West Christian School invites you to join them in celebrating through a time of thanksgiving as we reflect on the past 50 years and how God has led.

10am Saturday October 11, 2025
North West Christian School

We will begin with a Thanksgiving Service, giving glory to God for his guidance through the years. This will be followed by a fellowship lunch and tours of the school.

We would be honoured to celebrate this special occasion you. Students, families, alumni, staff, and friends who have all been apart of our journey.
