Matthew 9.9-13, 18-26   “…Matthew weaves together two stories of healing: a woman who has suffered with a flow of blood for twelve years, and a twelve-year-old girl who lies at the point of death… in both moments Jesus refuses to accept that these lives are beyond hope,” says Archbishop Jer...

“In the lead up to Diocesan Synod it is my prayer, while reflecting on two years of ministry as a Bishop, that I will always maintain the joy of being part of the Anglican family — our part of the Body of Christ, in the Anglican Church Southern Queensland,” says Bishop Sarah Plowman

Anglican Men’s Society Annual Conference – Day 1
📍 St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Coomera

Day 1 of the AMS Annual Conference began on a wonderful note with prayer and a warm welcome led by Revd Fr Stephen Selvaraj, Priest at Gold Coast North Anglican Parish (GCNA).

We were richly blessed by Bishop Paul Francis, who addressed the gathering on the theme: “Justice as the Foundation for Human Flourishing in the Kingdom of God” (Micah 6:8). His powerful message reminded us that, “Justice is not an optional social agenda for the Church; it is embedded in the very mission of God.”

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing friends from GCNA for preparing a lovely and delicious meal, which added to the spirit of fellowship and community.

As Day 1 comes to a close, we give thanks for meaningful conversations, inspiring teaching, and shared fellowship. Looking forward to what God has in store for Day 2!

🙏✨

"The church has always relied on words, images and metaphors to point toward the life of God—Creator, Word, Spirit; Lover, Beloved and Love shared between them. These images help us glimpse something real about the divine life. Language opens windows through which we may see something of God’s beauty.
And yet, every metaphor eventually reaches its edge. No single image can contain the mystery of God."

Today, we observed the Feast of St Augustine of Canterbury, first Archbishop of Canterbury and a guiding light in the shaping of English Christianity.

His courage, humility, and missionary heart continue to inspire our Anglican witness today.

May we follow his example as we share Christ’s love in our own community.

Often behind the scenes, chaplaincy teams provide quiet support when it’s needed most in our hospitals. 🌻

“We offer a compassionate presence and listen without judgement,” Chaplain Peter said.

For his wife Margaret, it’s about meeting people where they are.

“Sometimes it’s simply giving families a moment to step away.”

Thanks to all of our Chaplains for their dedicated work here at Redland Hospital. 🤍

“Each week we meet individuals and families facing the confronting reality of Motor Neurone Disease. ✨ Biggest Morning Tea – A Meaningful Gathering ✨
Today we had a wonderful Biggest Morning Tea, graciously hosted by the Mother’s Union to support Bev's initiative raising awareness about cancer. ☕💛
We were privileged to have Nick Crisp, member and Treasurer of St Paul’s, Manly, as our special speaker. He shared deeply moving reflections on God and humour, and God and patience, within the context of cancer illness. Through his stories of encounters with individuals and the experiences of his own family, we were drawn into a powerful journey of faith, resilience, and hope.
It was truly a touching experience — a space where we shared both tears and laughter, reminded of God’s presence even in life’s most challenging moments.
We also enjoyed a beautiful spread of delicious food, nourishing not only our bodies but also giving us much food for thought.
👏 Well done to everyone who participated, contributed, and generously supported this meaningful event. Your kindness and compassion are making a difference in a truly noble cause.
🙏 Together in faith, hope, and love.
