This Sunday 13th Sep, Dal will be taking us through 2 Samuel 13-14, looking at “A Kingdom in Turmoil”.

In 2 Samuel 13–14, we find David’s kingdom and family descending into turmoil as sin grips his household. Tamar is wounded, Amnon is consumed by his sinful desires, and Absalom responds with bitterness and vengeance. David’s failure to act decisively allows the fractures within his family to deepen. This shocking story points us to a greater King who can restore what sin has broken, forgive our sins, and bring reconciliation and healing, even into the most broken places.

This Sunday 23 Aug, Dal will be continuing our series in the book of 2 Samuel, looking at chapters 8-10, with his message; “A Glorious Kingdom”.

2 Samuel 8–10 displays the establishment and blessing of David’s kingdom under God’s gracious hand. God gives David victory over his enemies and establishes Israel’s security (2 Samuel 8:6, 14). In chapter 9, David demonstrates covenant kindness by seeking Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, and welcoming him continually to the king’s table. These chapters point us to Jesus, the greater King, who welcomes those far from God, brings them near by grace, and gives them a place at his table.

This Sunday 16 Aug, Dal will be continuing our series in the book of 2 Samuel, looking at chapter 7, with his message; “An Eternal Kingdom”.

In 2 Samuel 7, David decides to build God a house, but God flips it on its head when He promises that He will be the One to build David a house that reaches into eternity. God promises David that his offspring will sit on his throne, and ultimately points to the true King who will reign over His people forever. David responds by trusting God’s plans and giving thanks in prayer. This is one of the most significant passages in the Old Testament, looking through time and pointing us to Jesus, our eternal King.

This Sunday 9 Aug, Dal will be continuing our series in the book of 2 Samuel, looking at chapter 6 entitled “A Kingdom of Worship”.

This week, we discover that the presence of God is the centre of everything and we are invited into worship. David brings the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem, establishing it as the centre of worship and God’s presence. We find a holy God who must be honoured, and we also see David’s joy as he worships the Lord with all his heart. We are invited into worshipping God through Christ, and giving him our whole lives as we worship and honour him.

This Sunday 2 Aug, Dal will be continuing our series in the book of 2 Samuel, looking at chapters 3-5, focusing on chapter 5, with his message; “A United Kingdom”.

After years of division, conflict and uncertainty, God establishes David as king over all Israel. The people come together and recognise David as their King, their shepherd and ruler. David then captures Jerusalem and establishes it as the city of David and the centre of Israel. This reminds us that God establishes his king in his place, under his rule, and in his time. David points us to Jesus, the true Shepherd-King, who gathers his people into one eternal kingdom, and leads us towards the heavenly Jerusalem.

This week, we'll be starting a new series in the book of 2 Samuel entitled “A King and His Kingdom” as we follow the rise and fall of King David.

Dal will be launching the series this Sunday, looking at 2 Samuel 1-2, with his message; “A Tale of 2 Kings”.

The book of 2 Samuel follows the rise and fall of David as he steps into leadership as Israel's king. It opens with the death of Saul and David being anointed king once again. Yet the path to the throne is far from straightforward, as another is also crowned king. Through it all, David displays remarkable humility, patience, and trust in God's timing. He grieves well, refuses to take shortcuts, and waits faithfully for God's promise. In David, we see a king after God's own heart, who ultimately points us to our true and greater King, Jesus.

This Sunday, Mike Currie will be preaching on "Science and God - Does Science Disprove God?”

We live in an age of science and scepticism. There are some who portray Christianity as old fashioned and superstitious and that science is the best guide to truth. This week we are going to look at whether science has done away with our need for God and how to think about the bible in light of modern science.

The Bible is God’s word, powerful and useful for shaping our lives, but we need to approach it with humility and care. Together, we’ll think about how we can grow in confidence and wisdom as we seek to understand God’s word.
