There will be an opportunity for prayer and
veneration of the relic at 7:00pm to 9pm in the
Church this evening.

Feast of The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today, August 22nd, the Church celebrates the beautiful Memorial of the Queenship of Mary!

Just one week after marking her Assumption into heaven, we honor our Blessed Mother as she is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth by her Son, Jesus Christ.Mary’s queenship is not about earthly power, riches, or armies. As Pope Pius XII noted when establishing this feast in 1954, Jesus is King by nature, and Mary is Queen by grace and divine relationship. Her rule is defined by total humility, profound love, and an eternal "Yes" to God's will.

Because she reigns with a mother's heart, we can confidently bring our trials, hopes, and prayers to her, knowing she constantly intercedes for us.

Everyone is welcome to join us for Mass this weekend (Saturday 5pm Vigil, Sunday 8am, 10am or 5pm).

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation in Australia.

We give thanks to God for the gift of Mary, who, at the end of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into the glory of heaven. The Assumption is a sign of the hope we share in Christ's Resurrection and a reminder of the eternal life promised to all who faithfully follow Him.

Mary's life was one of complete trust in God, humble service, and unwavering faith. As the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, she continues to intercede for us, leading us ever closer to her Son.

On this special feast, let us honour Our Lady by participating in Mass, entrusting our families, our parish, and our world to her loving care, and asking for the grace to say "yes" to God's will each day.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, assumed into heaven, pray for us.

May Our Lady of the Assumption watch over you and your loved ones and draw you ever closer to Christ.

ST MARY OF THE CROSS FEAST DAY
Today we celebrate the Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia's first saint and a woman whose faith, courage, and compassion continue to inspire us.

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop reminds us to trust in God's providence, to never lose hope in times of difficulty, and to see Christ in those most in need. Her simple yet profound words, "Never see a need without doing something about it," continue to challenge us to live the Gospel through acts of kindness, generosity, and love.

As we honour our patron saint, may we follow her example of humble service, unwavering faith, and joyful trust in God's plan.

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, pray for us.
