All clergy, music ministers, members of Parish Liturgy Committees and parishioners are warmly invited to a special Liturgical Music Workshop with Br Michael Herry fms.

Br Michael Herry is a Melbourne-based Marist Brother and pastoral musician who has composed, shared and presented liturgical music throughout the Australian Church for many years.

With a deep love for the role of music in worship and prayer, Br Michael invites us to explore how melody, rhythm, cadence and silence can draw us more deeply into the presence of God and enrich our celebration of the liturgy.

Through music, reflection and formation, Br Michael will lead us into an evening where faith, prayer and sacred music come together — an opportunity to be uplifted, inspired and renewed in our understanding of how music can open our hearts and deepen the way we worship together.

Pope Leo has emphasised formation for liturgy as a priority in his current catechesis on the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy from Vatican II. Boston College offers its excellent and very accessible online Liturgy Essentials course soon - a terrific low-cost professional learning opportunity for all who prepare liturgy and prayer services in Catholic parishes and schools.
