We would like to invite you, our friends, partners, and all those in Sydney or beyond, to experience an imaginative play written by YMT alumni Jess (who also wrote "The Screwtape Letters" play from 2022). 🎭

The play walks through the journey of faith and reason while trying to understand life's biggest questions.

Proceeds of the sales are generously being donated to support the work of YMT.

Ticket sales are open now, with four shows to choose from. Head to 🔗 tinyurl.com/TWWOR for tickets and more information. 🎟️ℹ️

Today is the feast of St Pier Giorgio Frassati, who only became a saint last September! As the patron saint of youth and students, he balanced academic pressures with deep prayer and radical charity to the poor.

May we learn from St Frassati's example and follow his famous motto, "Verso l'alto" (to the heights).

🎤 “Why did you join YMT?” — is what we asked current and past volunteers. Here are some of the answers we got…

“I joined YMT because I saw other people do it. I saw my sisters and lots of cool people do it. And I thought, ‘it’d be good for me, a good experience’. Because it helped them become more like themselves. And I wanted to help reach out to young people and give them some hope.”
— Linus, 18 (currently serving on YMT Perth)

“In prayer I felt God say to do team - like a rock dropping into a pond, the idea was dropped into my heart. So I figured I’d apply and see what God would do with that.”
— Catherine, 24 (currently serving on YMT Sydney)

“I joined YMT because when I was in high-school, the team ministered to me at a youth group and they were really invested in who I was which was very inspiring as a young person. I really wanted to do the same for other young people, as well as journeying with them in their journey with Christ.”
— Charlotte, 18 (currently serving on YMT Melbourne)

“At the time I had the space and a desire to do more with my life. I didnt want to keep studying and get into a job yet, I felt like I needed to do more with my life and for God. When I was least expecting it, team came to me and I felt like I couldn’t say ‘no’.”
— Edward, 26 (YMT Perth 2022, Sydney 2023)

“…the reason why I joined YMT last year is because I had my conversion, and I really wanted to share how my relationship with God changed through all the love and mercy that He gave me. He transformed my life into something completely new and different.
I wanted to share that possibility to high-school students as well. …
At the beginning of this year I felt God call me to a second year of mission. It was something I couldn’t say ‘no’ to, because I saw firsthand how God worked through me, and how much I grew in faith and personally on Youth Mission Team.”
— Catherine (Cuzzy), 21 (currently serving on YMT Perth)

YMT doesn’t just impact young people, but the volunteers as well. 💚

Volunteers live a radical lifestyle that is supported and encouraged to help live out as a witness to others. 💚 While the weekly plans may change, the weekly routine consists of:

🟩 Monday • Self Care — a day for rest and personal activity.
• Household Nights — a weekly night where each hood spend quality time with each other.

🟦 Tuesday • Office Day — A day to train and prepare for School Ministry and iSTAND events.
• Sharing Group — a weekly/fortnightly group hosted by  the Community that each volunteer attends.

🟥 Wednesday-Friday • Ministry —  Facilitating School programs across the state.

🟧 Friday • Youth Groups — The team will either run, or attend a local Youth Group that happen weekly.

🟪 Saturday • Social Events & iSTAND —  Each team host 4 annual iSTAND Camps or Conference Days.

🟨 Sunday • Church commitments — a day for faith formation, and  fellowship with Community gatherings.

This is only the tip of the iceberg considering what the volunteers are capable and able to do during their year of mission. What a week!!
