We are so excited to welcome back Derek Rabelo to Shellharbour Community Church for the third time. 🌊
Derek is a blind professional surfer from Brazil who has tackled some of the most powerful waves in the world — Pipeline in Hawaii, Nazaré in Portugal — all without ever being able to see them. Born fully blind from congenital glaucoma, Derek taught himself to surf using sound and feel alone, and his story has since inspired people across the globe through his documentary Beyond Sight, his book Beyond These Eyes, and his work as an international speaker.
Every time Derek has stood in our church, we have left encouraged, challenged, and reminded of what it truly looks like to live by faith and not by sight. This Sunday will be no different.
