The Mystery of Praise
Zephaniah 3:14-20
Praise is something we do not only when God has done something for us but also in response to what God will do for us, in anticipation of victory.
Psalms 67:5 says ‘let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee’ Let the people praise the Lord, Psalm 106:1 says “Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.” Praise is a commandment from God. Praise is a mystery when you praise God regardless the negative things that may be happening in your life.
There are battles we fight every day, have you tried deploying the weapon of praise? Praise has to be intentional regardless the pains and discomfort you feel. God is merciful to praise givers; He inhabits the praises of His people.
Praise is expressive, when you praise God, you show it in actions such as dancing, not standing still and saying you are praising God in your heart. Praise attracts God’s presence, power, deliverance, and favour Acts 2:47; Matt 15:25-28 The Canaanite woman came to Jesus and worshipped for the healing of her daughter. Praise brings divine intervention as seen in the case of Paul & Silas who praised God and the prison chains were broken Acts 16:25-34.
Praise provokes victory 2 Chron. 20:1-24 Jehoshaphat praised along with the children of Israel to obtain victory. Joshua and the children of Israel praised God with a shout and the wall of Jericho came down Joshua 6:20.
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights - Habakkuk 3:17-29.
Receive grace to praise God regardless of your circumstance!
