It is with great sadness that we will make our farewells to Rev Bob Peattie next Friday 5th of June 2.30pm at Pettigrew Family Funerals in Mayfield.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time and it is our hope they will be able to take solace and strength from knowing he is at rest in the loving care of our Lord whom he loved and served faithfully during his life.

As Romans 8:38-39 reminds us...

'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'

It was wonderful to have the President of the Nigerian Community of Newcastle, Michael Nwanguma, join us and share some stories about his 'lived experience' and provide us with first hand information about the current plight of many within Nigeria as part of our World Day of Prayer Service last Friday (6th).

Much thanks to him for his time and invaluable insights and to everyone who attended and contributed to this Ecumenical event including representatives from the Uniting and Presbyterian Churches here in Charlestown.
