St Justin, one of the great thinkers of the early Church, shows us that faith and reason belong together. Living just decades after the time of the apostles, he used the language of philosophy to defend Christianity and reveal its deep coherence and truth.

St Justin’s writings offer one of the earliest descriptions of the Mass—one that still echoes in our liturgy today—and boldly proclaims the mystery of the Eucharist: not ordinary bread and wine, but truly the Body and Blood of Christ.

His witness reminds us that the faith we celebrate is both ancient and living, grounded in truth and handed on through the centuries.

St Justin, martyr, pray for us, that we may grow in understanding and love of the Eucharist. 🙏

REMINDER 🔔 Everyone is invited to the Thanksgiving Mass for Bishop Terry Curtin on Saturday 16 May at St Patrick's Cathedral. Looking back, Bishop Terry remembers the early days of his priesthood, when he introduced his dad to the then Archbishop. Archbishop Little said to his dad, ‘You must be very proud of your son.’ ‘And my father's reply, which I've never forgotten, was “No, I feel very humble”.’ 🙏
