Dear Members and Friends of Ballarat Ward,
The Christmas season is fast approaching and, once again, Ballarat Ward would like to help those in our community who are in less fortunate circumstances by contributing to the Christmas Appeal.
There are boxes in the foyer of the meetinghouse for you to place your donations of non perishable food items.
All items MUST be within their Best By / Use By dates and must be unopened.
Some suggestions include:
canned goods, pasta / rice, jars of pasta sauce, long life custard and milk, packets of soup, noodles and festive items that families may not otherwise be able to enjoy such as Christmas puddings, bon Bons, tins of biscuits, shortbread, potato chips, nuts, confectionary and anything else that will add joy to those in need.
Toiletries are also welcome (and needed):
shampoo / conditioner, deodorants, soap, talc, hand cream, shaving cream, disposable razors, toothbrushes / toothpaste, sanitary products and lip balms for example.
Finally, we are also seeking donations of toys / games / puzzles / books for children of all ages.
Toys need to be NEW and, if battery operated, please include a pack of the appropriate sized batteries; they also need to be UNWRAPPED.
The final day for donations will be Sunday 7 th December 2025 after which they will be distributed to families in need in the Ballarat community through Uniting Care, Anglicare, St Vincent DePaul and The Salvation Army.
Please let others who may not see this post know about the Christmas Appeal so they too may have the opportunity to give.
