✨ WHAT A MONUMENTAL DAY! ✨
Today marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another for Wheatland District Church.
After 18 years of faithful service, Ps Lisa Woods & Dion Woods have finished their season of leading WDC and today, they had the incredible privilege of passing the baton to Ps Dash Schultz & Mal Schultz. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
We are so grateful for every person who has journeyed with us, served alongside us, prayed with us and helped build the church we are today. What a privilege it has been — and what a joy to see the baton being passed into capable hands for the next season. 💚💛
Today we were also incredibly blessed to have Ps Enzo Maisano with us, sharing an incredible word from 1 Corinthians 15:58:
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
His challenge to us was simple:
Be steadfast. Be immovable. Be overflowing.
What a powerful word for a day of transition.
We also had the opportunity to honour some very special people for their incredible years of service:
💚 Karen Stuckey — 9 years of faithful service to WDC as Ps Lisa’s assistant.
💚 Ps Kevin Mckenzie & Wendy McKenzie — 10 years of faithful service as Associate Pastors.
💚 Ps Lisa Woods — 18 years of faithful service to Wheatland District Church.
And perhaps the most beautiful part of today was remembering that the baton is never ours to hold forever — we carry it faithfully for a season, and then we pass it on.
As Paul said:
“What you have heard from me… entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.”
— 2 Timothy 2:2
Today, we celebrate what has been, honour those who have served, and look forward with great anticipation to all that God has ahead for WDC.
The baton has been passed. The race continues. 🏃♂️💚💛
