This Father’s Day, we’re reminded of the love, patience, guidance and compassion that fathers and father figures bring into our lives.

And beyond the love we experience on earth, we look to our Heavenly Father, whose compassion is constant, whose love never fails, and who cares for us as His children.

Last Sunday, we were privileged to have Ps Glyn Henman come down from Sydney to Melbourne.
Ps Glyn said it’s easier for him to fly from Sydney to Melbourne than to walk next door and visit his 94-year-old neighbour.
Distance wasn’t the issue — Ps Glyn highlighted that putting in the effort to notice someone in need and helping them like a Good Samaritan is harder than doing what’s comfortable.

"No one can serve two masters..." (Matthew 6:24)

Money can be a resource — or it can become an idol. And idols always over-promise: they claim they'll give you security, worth, control, but they can't actually deliver. God doesn't ask us to let go of money because it's evil, but because it's not enough — and He is. True joy isn't found in what we hold onto, but in who holds us.

Are you controlled by money? 💰

God created us to rule over His creation — including money. But somewhere along the way, the order can get flipped.

Instead of God ruling over us and us ruling over money, we can find ourselves being ruled by money, putting our pursuit of wealth ahead of God.

Jesus calls us to loosen our grip on money. And as we loosen our grip on money, money loosens its grip on us.
