✨ A Celebration of Faith, Music, and Community ✨

Join us as we celebrate a very special Triple 40th Anniversary — the 40th Anniversary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay, the 40th Anniversary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Parramatta, and the 40th Anniversary of Bukas Palad Music Ministry! 🎉

We are beyond thrilled to announce that the beloved Bukas Palad Music Ministry from the Philippines will be coming to Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Church for a special Benefit Concert as part of this joyful celebration. 🎶✨

And yes, my former teacher of Liturgical Music at Loyola School of Theology — Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ himself, founder of Bukas Palad and composer of many of the songs we know and love, will be joining the ministry’s artists and musicians for this unforgettable evening of worship and inspiration.

The concert will also feature special guest appearances from two of Sydney’s finest Filipino choirs, making this a truly memorable celebration of faith, culture, and sacred music.

St. Lorenzo Ruiz, the 1st Filipino Saint and Martyr. He was born in Binondo, Manila in 1600, was a father of 3, and a lay member of the Dominican Confraternity of the Holy Rosary. Together with the other 16 Dominican missionaries, he was martyred during the persecution of the Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan. Like other martyrs of faith, he was tortured but never renounced his faith. Despite being hung upside down in a pit, he never ever recanted his Catholic faith. He was beatified in Manila on the 18th of February 1981 (the first one outside the Vatican), and was canonized in Rome on the 18th of October 1987, both by Pope John Paul II.

Glorious Launch ✨

Glorious is a new initiative by Catholic Youth Broken Bay (CYBB) for young adults (18-35) that combines community with creativity to offer an experience of God's love and glory through events and evangelisation.

Young adults are invited to come along and join CYBB for their Launch Night at the Light of Christ Centre, Waitara this Wednesday 16 Feburary 2022.

Many of us are already anticipating Christmas. We are awaiting not just the opening of our state or interstate borders, the further easing of restrictions, the return to normal way of doing things, and the freedom to travel around and re-connect with family and friends. We are also waiting to return to Church after many months of doing online masses
