31st Constituency Meeting 2026 | DAY 1
The 31st Constituency Meeting of the Greater Sydney Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church was held the 29-30th of August 2026. At the Constituency meeting, representatives (a number of members selected by each local church to represent their church) elect Conference leadership, receive reports from Conference ministries and entities (Adventist Book Store, Aged Care and Education), and vote on general decisions, church business, and proposed changes to the Conference Constitution. A message from our re-elected GSC officers:

Thank you to our constituents and delegates for your trust and confidence, and for giving us the opportunity to serve.

We are grateful for the privilege of working together to help our churches grow and flourish, make disciples, and share God’s mission across Greater Sydney.

The reports are in, and the Greater Sydney Conference officers have been re-elected to serve our churches for the next four years.

We are grateful for their willingness to continue serving and leading. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin this new term of service. 🙏

The opposite of lonely isn't busy. It's known.

You can live in one of the most connected corners of Sydney, pass a thousand people before lunch, and still get to Friday without anyone asking how you actually are.

Nearly one in three Australian adults say they're lonely, and one in six describe it as severe (Ending Loneliness Together, State of the Nation, 2023).

And when Australians are asked what they value most about a local church, the top answer isn't a doctrine. It's the supportive community, 38% (McCrindle, Faith and Belief in Australia).

People aren't looking for a better argument. They're looking for a place to belong.

So we're building a room for that. It's being built to meet the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the people right around us.

Belonging before believing. That's the whole idea.

We do a lot of humanitarian work through the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). It is the official humanitarian agency of the Adventist Church.

Our mission in Sydney is to work with those most in need – whether they are those who are suffering through poverty or those who have been affected by disaster, or both. We also support Australian’s facing crisis through a range of services including women’s refuges, community meals and refugee support programs.

We have six schools covering the regions of the Greater Sydney area. Each school provides a quality education in modern, well-equipped buildings and grounds. Our private schools serve primary, secondary and high school aged children and families throughout Sydney.
