The Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today we celebrate the birth of Mary — the woman chosen to bear Christ into the world.

Her life reminds us of the beauty of a heart open to God: a life of faith, humility, trust and quiet courage.

As we celebrate her birthday, may we ask for her prayers and seek to follow her example — making room for God in the ordinary moments of our lives.

May Mary lead us closer to her Son and inspire us to say, as she did, “Let it be done to me according to your word.”

Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother.
Our Lady of the Way, pray for us.

Happy Father’s Day!

Today we give thanks for all the dads, grandfathers, godfathers and father figures in our lives — for their love, guidance, encouragement and all the little things they do for us along the way.

We also remember and pray for the fathers and father figures who are no longer with us, holding them close in our hearts today.

May St Joseph, a loving and faithful father, watch over and pray for all the fathers and father figures in our lives.

Wishing you all a very happy and blessed Father’s Day!

In the stillness of creation, we are invited to slow down and listen.

Away from the noise and demands of everyday life, nature offers a quiet space for prayer, reflection and renewal — a place to become attentive once again to the presence of God.

A retreat is not simply an escape from the world, but an opportunity to step away from it for a while, and return with a deeper sense of peace, purpose and faith.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Life can become so full that we forget to stop and notice what God is doing within us.

A retreat gives us the opportunity to step
away from the noise and demands of everyday life, to slow down, pray, reflect and simply be present with God. It is a chance to look at where we are, where God may be leading us, and what He might be asking us to grow into.

Like a field needs time, care and attention to grow, so too does our faith. Sometimes we need to step away from the busyness to give God room to plant, water and build something new within us.

May the time we spend on retreat remind us that we are never growing alone — we are co-workers in God’s service.

Whether you’re joining us for a silent retreat, group retreat, private retreat or simply taking some time away to reconnect with God, our chapels at both the Main Site and Carmel House provide a peaceful space for prayer and reflection.

Take a moment away from the busyness of everyday life. Sit in silence, spend time in prayer, reflect on God’s presence, or simply enjoy a quiet moment of stillness.

Whatever brings you to Mt Carmel, our chapels are here to help create space to pause, pray and be with the Lord.

This weekend we are blessed with the presence of the Order of Malta.

Their fantastic history is listed below ...

The Order of Malta is one of the oldest continually existing organizations of Western civilization.

A sovereign subject of international law, the Order of Malta maintains diplomatic relations with over 100 states and the European Union, and has permanent observer status at the United Nations. It is neutral, impartial and apolitical.

Founded in Jerusalem in the second half of the 11th century, the Order of Malta has a long and complex history of service to the vulnerable and the sick throughout the Mediterranean, as reflected by the past headquarter cities contained in its full name: Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta. Since 1834, the Order of Malta’s government seat has been in Rome, where it was granted extraterritorial rights by the Italian Republic.
