First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

We are inviting children in Year 4 or above who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation to register for our upcoming Reconciliation and First Holy Communion programs.

When - Tuesday 23rd June at 6pm
Where - St Mary's Parish
What to bring - Completed registration forms and payment ($40 for Reconciliation Program, $60 for First Holy Communion Program)

Please bring your child's certificate of Confirmation ONLY IF THEY WERE NOT CONFIRMED IN OUR PARISH.

For children to be able to begin the First Holy Communion program, they MUST have made Reconciliation.

It is expected that all parents who wish to sign their children up to either of these programs attend this registration evening. More details about each program will be given at the time.

God's love is not just a concept to be understood, but rather a physical force demonstrated through Jesus's actions of healing, forgiving, and reconciling.

"The only way to see and describe God's love is to realise that Jesus IS God's love made real in the world." Fr Andrew.

God's love is a reconciling love that brings people together and restores the relationship between God and humanity. The cross represents God's ultimate sacrificial love, given while we were still lost.

Never forget how deeply Jesus's heart moves for you. "At the sight of the crowds, Jesus’ heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd" (Mat 9:36).

Today, allow His shepherd's heart to comfort you.

There is something extraordinary that happens during morning tea after the 9am Mass. It is a moment where the celebration of the Holy Mass continues.

When you see people gathering week after week over a cuppa and a light meal, you become a witness to God's fellowship among His people and get a taste of God's kingdom on earth.

It's not just an opportunity to catch up with friends and share stories of the week gone by or hopes and dreams for the week ahead. It is an opportunity to lend a listening ear to someone in need, to offer support and compassion, and to share the love of God in our hearts with our brothers and sisters. It is also an opportunity to extend a warm welcome to someone new and help strengthen our parish community.

Our parish hospitality team serves our community with generous and open hearts. Through their welcoming smiles, kindness, and positive energy, they help create a place where everyone feels at home.

If you feel God calling you to use your gifts in this way, we invite you to reach out to the team to learn how you can help serve our parish community. The team also gratefully welcomes donations to support our weekly morning tea and monthly sausage sizzle.

Together, we continue the fellowship of the Mass and build a stronger parish family.

We know it, we hear it, we say it, but what does "God loves you" actually mean? Jesus shows us through His actions. He healed the broken, forgave sins, and brought people together. When He saw the crowds "harassed and dejected like sheep without a shepherd," Jesus didn't just feel pity. Instead, He demonstrated God's reconciling love through sacrifice.

God's love isn't just a feeling. It's visible, active, and transformative. Jesus' wounds reveal the depth of God's love for us. The church is where this love becomes real, where we encounter Jesus through Word, sacrament, and fellowship.

We are called to be "little Christs" in the world, reflecting the love of God to everyone we encounter. This is where we become love for one another and where true, genuine transformation happens ❤️‍🔥

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Mary’s heart carried joy and sorrow, uncertainty and suffering, yet remained faithful to the will of God and open to the Holy Spirit.

Let us ask Our Lady to intercede for us, that our hearts may become more like hers: trusting, faithful, and centred on Christ.

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let's remind ourselves of the immense, burning, unending love that Christ has for us.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.

May you know how deeply loved you are, and may you shine this love everywhere you go, helping more people to know the love of Jesus.

Have you feasted enough on earthly offerings? Are you ready to accept what God is placing in front of you?

The gift of Christ in the Eucharist was offered to us, freely, so we can truly experience God's salvation.

Jesus wants you at Mass. Jesus wants you to feast on His body and blood for your own salvation, and the salvation of the whole world. Abide in Him and He will abide in you.

Participating in this blessed sacrament can and will change your life. Before you receive the Eucharist next, reflect on how you can allow Jesus to work in your life through His everlasting gift. What worldy distraction are you willing to sacrifice for the one who sacrificed it all for you?
