1 John 4:18 NKJV
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
John reminds us of the difference between living under the Law and living under Grace.
Every week Christians come together to remember this promise of God in the simple act of communion.
The bread and wine remind us of the price Jesus paid so that we didn't have to.
God's covenant promise remains, for Jesus said on the cross, 'It is finished!' .
it is completed, your sins have been paid in full.
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Think of that for a moment - Jesus who had never sinned, pure & good had the sins of humanity placed upon his shoulders..
He bore it all, was punished for it all and paid in full for us all.
We no longer live in fear , now we live under the love and mercy God.
Let that settle deeply in your heart this week.
Are you perfect, no.
Are you loved, yes.
So live in the power of that love and forgiveness.
We are not afraid but thankful for all the Lord has done for us.
