Night Church Evolution
Marking the end of an era and the beginning of something new

For the past three months the Young Adults and key leaders of Night Church have been discerning a new approach to our third worshiping community and are planning trial of something new from October 15th. To allow a small break over the school holidays, this Sunday we will acknowledge and give thanks for this era of Night Church and hear about what Night Church is evolving into. We are preparing a number of ways that we can together reminisce about how helpful Night Church has been and get excited for what God is stirring and evolving as we move forward together.

This will be a special time and we encourage everyone who has been involved in Night Church over the years to come and be part of celebration and evolution.

Due to the symbolic and interactive nature of the gathering,
live streaming will not be available this week.

Night Church - The Heart of Christianity - Thin Places and the Open Heart
Free-form | Chapel | no LiveStream | Supper

As part of the 'growing young' program, we explored how to take Jesus' message seriously last Sunday. Marcus Borg's book, The Heart of Christianity talks about the fundamental characteristics of 'being Christians' - how to take the message of Jesus seriously. Tonight, we will explore the concept of 'thin places' and 'open heart' to take the message of Jesus more seriously. It will be a short and simple service with deep discussion and sharing. Hope to see you at NC at 6:30 pm.

Due to the nature of the service, we are unable to livestream this Night Church. Sorry.

Night Church - Taking Jesus' Message Seriously
Free-form | Chapel | no LiveStream | Supper

Jesus, through his words and actions, showed us a way of living that is transformative. When we look at the institutionalised church (or even our church here at TUC) is this message of Jesus taken seriously? Tonight we have a free-form approach led by Phil which will include a reflective walk, followed by a discussion on how we can participate in Jesus’ transformative way of living.

Due to the nature of the service, we are unable to livestream this Night Church. Sorry.

Night Church at TUC
Tonight - Being the Bad Guys
Forward Facing Worship | Church | LiveStream| Dinner
Preacher: Rev Kevin Kim
Bible Reading: Romans 1:1-17
We are starting a new series of the book of Romans. In the introduction to his letter to the church in Rome, which is this Sunday’s reading, Paul first explains by what authority he preaches. He then greets the Roman congregation, and outlines the basic themes of the letter to follow, including the relationship between Gentile and Jewish Christians, the role of faith, grace and obedience, and the righteousness of God. In v 16, he says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel.” Stephen McAlpine, Australian pastor from Perth says in his book, “Being the Bad Guys – How to live for Jesus in a world that says you shouldn’t” that Christian views are no longer worth considering but rather in need of silencing today. He questions how Christians became the bad guys in our society. Reflecting Stephen’s wake-up call, pastor Kevin will help us to learn how to avoid surprise and anger, and instead remain calm, confident and clear-sighted to be not ashamed of the gospel in our community and neighbourhood. We will explore how to be the best bad guy we can be for the sake of the gospel. We will also be sharing together in communion and a meal in the church lounge afterwards.
You can attend this worship service in-person at 6:30pm at church
or connect live (or catch up afterwards) on our
page and our YouTube channel.
