The Stable NQ Welcome to The Stable NQ where our guests experience the Christmas Story of the birth of Jesus. The Stable NQ is Townsville's Christmas Festival!

Each year The Townsville City Council and The Combined Churches of Townsville work together to create a FREE family friendly event celebrating Christmas. We invite you to experience the Christmas Story with us! Stable 2022 will again bring a gift to the people of Townsville bringing hope, life and meaning this Christmas season. For 18 years Stable has been North Queensland‘s Christmas Festival, a signature event held at Strand Park, Townsville for 5 nights from 18-22nd December and attended by 40,000 people. We have re-created the Christmas story in the town of Bethlehem with live animals, convincing actors, authentic props, a real Baby Jesus and heaps of activities for the whole family. In 2020 we created a Covid safe drive by event called Stable on the Streets. The Christmas message was brought alive across this city through, Christmas scenes, stars, lights and performances and in 2021 again with Covid in mind we moved to Riverway. In 2022, our 21st year, we will again and bring Stable Riverway. It’s a much larger space, where we can have heaps of different activities, attract new people but still have all our favourite scenes and props to tell the wonderful story of Christmas. Our Motto is: “By our love”

Something beautiful is taking shape in the heart of Townsville.

The Stable NQ is proud to support Townsville City Lights, alongside the Uptown Group and committed local businesses and organisations who share a vision for a C*D filled with life, light and hope.

A heartfelt thank you to Annandale Christian College, one of our valued Stable NQ sponsors. Their students are pouring creativity, care and heart into beautiful shopfront window displays along Flinders Street, offering our community a gift to enjoy this Christmas. Calvary Christian College and The Cathedral School of St Anne & St James - Townsville are also joining the fun!

This is what makes the vision special: young people sharing their talents, businesses opening their windows to something new, and a community creating something beautiful together.

Here’s a sneak peek! The displays will be fully lit throughout December 1 - 31. Come for a wander, support our local businesses and share the wonder of Christmas.

STABLE SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT — CALVARY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE!

There’s something special about seeing local organisations come together to invest in our city, and we’re so grateful to have Calvary Christian College partnering with Stable NQ this Christmas.

With a heart for young people, families and our wider community, Calvary Christian College is helping us bring life in the heart of Townsville.

It takes a community to create something for a community, and every partnership helps us make that possible.

Thank you, Calvary Christian College, for standing with Stable NQ and investing into our city.

Together, we’re bringing life, light and hope to the heart of Townsville this Christmas.

Come pray with us as we prepare for Stable this year! We have some prayer warriors in our midst and we believe that where two or more gather the Lord is present! See you there

10 DAYS LEFT TO DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT!

The countdown is on.

There are just 10 days remaining in Stable NQ’s 30 Days of Giving, which means 10 more days to have your donation matched dollar for dollar!

Our goal is to raise $25,000 from our community and unlock the full $25,000 matching donation — turning it into $50,000 for Stable NQ.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to give, this is it.

10 days. Double your donation. Double your impact.

SOMETHING SPECIAL IS ON THE WAY…

A little more wonder.
A little more Christmas.
And something we can’t wait to share with Townsville.

We’ve been working behind the scenes on something pretty special for Stable in the City 2026 — and soon, you’ll get to see what’s coming.

For now, we’ll just say this…

Christmas in the city is about to get a little brighter.
