This past Sunday was the kick off to our new series in Mark!!

Mark opens his Gospel with an outrageous claim: Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and the true King.

But he doesn’t expect us to take his word for it. In Mark 1:1-13, he calls his witnesses-the prophets, John the Baptist, and finally heaven itself. At Jesus’ baptism, the heavens are torn open, the Spirit descends, and the Father declares, “You are my Son, whom I love.”

This is the beginning of the good news: we don’t climb our way up to God. God came down to us. Jesus steps into our water, identifies with sinners, enters our wilderness, and ultimately goes to the cross in our place.

Mark’s Gospel confronts every one of us with the question: Who is this Jesus? Because if He really is the promised King and Son of God, He isn’t simply someone to admire or add to our lives. He is the Savior and Lord who invites us to trust Him, worship Him, and follow Him ❤️‍🔥

In the final message of our Ephesians series, Pastor Luke unpacks Paul’s call to “be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” Through our union with Christ (Union Life), we aren’t fighting alone or trying to manufacture spiritual strength. Christ lives in us, we are in Him, and His victory has become the place from which we stand.

The problem is that we often lose our awareness of His presence and our dependence on His power. The enemy’s strategy is to distract, deceive, divide, and get us focused on ourselves instead of Jesus.

So Paul calls us to stand, put on the armor of God, and pray on all occasions. The victorious Christian life isn’t about trying harder-it’s about staying close. More awareness. More dependence. More of His presence. 🙏🏼

Everyone is searching for satisfaction, but we often look for it in places that can never truly satisfy.

In Psalm 63, David writes from the wilderness… a place of uncertainty, danger, and spiritual dryness. Yet instead of allowing his circumstances to define him, he anchors his heart in the unchanging character of God.
