Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

The Australian Islamic Medical Association (AIMA) is hosting a Free CPR & Life-Saving Skills Workshop right here at our mosque.

Allah (SWT) tells us in the Quran:
“...and whoever saves the life of a person is as if he has saved the life of the whole of humankind.” (Quran 5:32)

Whether it’s learning how to perform CPR, use an AED, or respond to choking emergencies, these few hours could help you save a family member or community member in a critical moment.

⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

👥 Who can attend: Men, women, and children are all welcome!

Note: This is a practical hands on community workshop (non-accredited).

Dr. Ismail Patel is the founder of the international NGO Friends of Al-Aqsa and a renowned speaker and commentator. He writes for The Guardian, The Independent, Al Jazeera English, and Arabian Business, and is often seen on television and social media.

We are very honoured that he has agreed to give us a talk this Friday. Please join Dr. Patel as he explores the historical, political, and humanitarian significance of Al-Aqsa, the impact of artificial intelligence in modern warfare, and our collective responsibility as Muslims to advocate for justice, peace, and the dignity of our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Assalamu alaikum everyone,

Yesterday at Jumu’ah, we were honoured to be joined by members of the Brunei Army, who are currently in Townsville conducting a joint international exercise with the Australian Defence Force.

They attended the Friday prayer and joined the congregation, where they had the opportunity to meet members of our community. They were warmly received and expressed their pleasant surprise at the strength, unity, and diversity of our wonderful Muslim community here in Townsville.

Alhamdulillah, it is always such a blessing to witness people come together in worship and brotherhood beyond any borders and backgrounds.

They will remain here for another week and, depending on their training schedule, may attend the upcoming Jumu’ah as well.

Please join in extending a warm welcome to them, and make them feel at home among us. May Allah strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between our communities and place barakah in their visit. Ameen.
