On Sunday 30 August, our newly re-formed Saint Vincent de Paul Conference was commissioned at the 9am Mass. Each member received a candle, as a reminder of their baptism and a certificate of membership. The members recited their pledge and received a blessing for the good and godly work that they are undertaking,

Learning to Pray (again) begins next week.

This monthly parish series is for anyone who would like to learn simple, practical ways of praying in the Catholic tradition. Each evening will include a brief introduction, a guided experience of prayer, time for quiet reflection, and simple sharing.

Our first session is Praying with Scripture, where we will use the ancient practice of Lectio Divina: listening slowly to the Word of God, noticing what speaks to the heart, and allowing Scripture to become prayer.

All are welcome, whether prayer is already part of your life or something you are trying to begin again.

I completely forgot this when setting my calendar - my apologies.

This Feast is a Holy Day of Obligation. You could also fulfil your obligation for that day by attending the Vigil Mass and then returning again for the Sunday Mass.
