❤️ MOTHER'S DAY ❤️

It was a great privilege across our services on Mother's Day to hear from a range of mums. We're so thankful for the generosity with which they served, particularly on the joys of being a mum, what they long most for their kids, and how we can best be praying for them.

Heavenly Father, we thank you and pray especially for our mothers:

For new mums, coming to terms with new responsibilities;
For expectant mums, wondering and waiting;
For mums who may be struggling.
For mothers raising children on their own;
For those who have lost a child;
For foster mums who care for the children of others;
For those women whose desire to be a mother has not been fulfilled.

On this Mother’s Day, we pray that you will bless all mums: that their love may be deep and tender. We pray that this love may be reciprocated; and that they may lead their children to know your love O Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

We’re not saved because of what we’ve done or religious status, but by believing in the one who faithfully went to the cross for us.

↓ NEW SERIES: ROMANS — STRENGTHENED BY THE GOSPEL ↓

Last Sunday we launched a new series exploring Paul's letter to the Romans — one of the most important pieces of written correspondence in all of human history! Paul—as apostle, teacher, and pastor—longs for the believers to be strengthened and mutually encouraged by the gospel. In this eighteen-part series, we’ll explore Romans with the same hope as Paul had for his original audience: that we would grow in our understanding of the gospel, grasp the implications of the gospel for our lives, and be strengthened as disciples of Jesus — collectively and individually.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." — ROMANS 1:16

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES 🚧

With the Toowoomba Running Festival on tomorrow, please note that there will be some road closures that may affect those travelling to our 7:30AM and 9:30AM services in Toowoomba.

You may need to go a different route and allow a little extra time to make it in time for the service, especially if you live in East Toowoomba, Prince Henry Heights, Rangeville, South Toowoomba, Centenary Heights, and Toowoomba City. The road closures begin from 3:30am.

If you can't make it in person, you can also join us online stbarts.online.church

Pray for all of the runners (along with those who volunteer) that they'll all be safe, delight in God's creation, and be an encouragement in perseverance. If you're running, feel free to join us in your running gear for one of services and coffee afterwards!

↓ 5 WAYS TO GET READY FOR ROMANS ↓

Paul’s letter to the Romans is one of the most important pieces of written correspondence in all of human history. This Sunday, we’ll be launching a new two-term series to help us plumb the depths of this remarkable letter and be strengthened by the Good News. Here are 5 ways to help get ready and make the most of the series.

1️⃣ REGISTER FOR ‘ROMANS IN ONE HOUR’

This Saturday (4-6PM in Toowoomba), Brian Rosner will help us get orientated to Romans with a one hour overview. Following the talk, we’ll share a light meal together. There will be kids activities available during the talk. Make sure that you register soon — spots are running out.

2️⃣ JOIN US SUNDAY & COLLECT SERIES OVERVIEW

Join us Sunday and collect (or download) a copy of the Series Overview (in English and Korean). Brian Rosner will be preaching across all services.

3️⃣ ENROL IN THE RIDLEY CERTIFICATE

This term, our six-week Ridley Certificate subject is: Explore Romans! You can complete in-person or online. Starts April 28 (7-9PM).

4️⃣ BUY A COPY OF STRENGTHENED BY THE GOSPEL

Copies will be available for sale or you can purchase on our website. This book by Brian Rosner is a succinct, accessible, and practical theology of Romans.

5️⃣ READ OR LISTEN TO ROMANS

Of course the best possible way to prepare for our series is to read or listen to Paul’s Letter to the Romans. Pray as you do, join a small group, and dive into the riches of God’s Word.
