Great collaboration between LYQ and Concordia Lutheran College developing and mentoring young leaders through connection, empathy and a willingness to serve.

Connection, empathy and a willingness to serve others.

Recently, the Blue Crew led Concordia's Year 10 students in a leadership training camp, taking the first steps towards their future role as mentors for incoming Year 7 students.

Team challenges, collaboration, reflection & workshops, students explored what it means to lead with empathy, compassion and purpose. The experience brought challenge to grow as communicators and role models, while developing skills to support younger students in transition.

Leadership extends beyond traditional Year 11 and Year 6 leadership pathways - It's everywhere. At LYQ, we strive to to show all students they are leaders and can make a positive impact in their community.

We all need to complete the census so let’s make sure the data provides a true reflection of the Lutheran faith in Australia. It’s a minor additional entry in your response that could help shape future decisions of government and the LCANZ.

📝 The Australian Census will be held on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Question 24 asks about each person’s religion. This question is optional.

As Lutheran is not included among the listed denominations, members who choose to answer the question are encouraged to enter 'Lutheran' in the 'Other—please specify' box. Doing so will help ensure that Lutherans are accurately represented in the Census ✝️

Kirstin Munchenberg is an Ipswich based artist whose practice gracefully bridges two creative pathways, the expressive depth of encaustic painting and the contemplative warmth of Christian devotional art.

With nearly two decades of experience as a Lutheran school chaplain, she weaves together spiritual reflection and visual expression in a practice she shares as the Painting Preacher Sermons that were never heard.
