On Sunday, the parish hosted a Synod Listening Session, in conjunction with the ongoing Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba Synod 🙏

We had a great turnout and would like to thank everyone who participated and shared their hopes for the Diocese moving forward ⛪️✝️

Q: What is a Listening Session?

A: A diocesan Synod brings together clergy, religious, and lay people to reflect on the needs of the Diocese, guided by the Holy Spirit. The Toowoomba Synod of 2026 will focus on listening, sharing and discerning practical and faithful ways to strengthen the mission of the Church in the Toowoomba Diocese.

Sacred Heart is hosting a listening session this Sunday from 10:30 - 11:30 am. This is a wonderful opportunity for parishioners to participate with their thoughts, experiences, and hopes on how best to live the joy of the gospel in our diocese moving forward. We hope to see you there 🙏❤️‍🔥

Parish Synod Listening Session this Sunday 🙏

Fr Hermi, together with our Parish Pastoral Council and parish Synod facilitators will be conducting a Parish Synod Listening Session on Sunday, 19 July from 10:30 - 11:30am, in the original church of Sacred Heart.

This is a wonderful opportunity for parishioners to participate in a friendly and respectful conversation about the future of our Catholic Church. Your thoughts, experiences, and hopes are important and everyone is encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!

O God, who by the mystery of today’s great feast
sanctify your whole Church in every people and nation,
pour out, we pray, the gifts of the Holy Spirit

and, with the divine grace that was at work
when the Gospel was first proclaimed,
fill now once more the hearts of believers.
