This week we looked at the Miracles – Evidence of God at Work:

From the burning bush to the parting of the Red Sea, the life of Moses was surrounded by remarkable demonstrations of God’s power. But what was the purpose of these miracles, and is seeing a miracle enough to produce lasting faith? This message explores the miracles surrounding Moses and the Exodus, while considering Jesus’ warning about seeking after signs. It challenges us to look beyond the miraculous and build a genuine, enduring relationship with God.

Last week: Mediator: Appeasing God’s Wrath Against Israel — When Israel repeatedly turned away from God, Moses stood between the people and God, pleading for mercy and forgiveness on their behalf. This sermon looks at Moses’ remarkable role as a mediator, from Mount Sinai to Israel’s rebellion in the wilderness, and considers why God listened to his intercession. But Moses’ ministry also pointed forward to someone greater. Scripture foretold a Prophet “like unto” Moses, and the New Testament identifies Jesus as the Mediator of the new covenant. This message traces that connection from Moses to Christ and considers what it means for us today to hear Him, follow Him, and be part of a people who “keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

This week we continue our journey through the Book of Acts and explore Acts 4 — Boldness Before the Council. Peter and John are arrested for preaching the resurrection of Jesus, yet when brought before the rulers of Israel they refuse to be silenced, declaring that salvation is found in no other name. We’ll look at their remarkable courage, the power of the Holy Spirit, the response of the early believers, and how their faith changed what they valued — even to the point that earthly possessions no longer held the same importance.

This week we continue our journey through the Book of Acts, focusing on Acts 2 and Peter’s message following the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We’ll look at how Peter connects the events of Pentecost with the prophets, the promised Christ, His death and resurrection, and God’s calling of His people. We’ll also consider the remarkable biblical theme of “the woman’s seed”, and finish with Peter’s call to repentance and the example of the early Church—a people marked by steadfast faith, fellowship, prayer and fervent charity toward one another.
