🙌Good news story for the week🙌

The lamb on the left marked on her shoulders is pictured with her twin, also marked on the shoulders. She was on its last legs after being born on a cold rainy day in early June. When I picked her up she gave a bleat but could not stand nor raise her head. I took her home where loz fed her with small amounts of milk over the next few hours, resting in front of the warmth of our house fire, till she finally stood.
Fast forward to the next day and we had a lamb that was full of energy. So I took a punt and returned the lamb to the ewe, who was still roaming the paddock with her other lamb. We had a successful reunion and now at marking we have a perfectly healthy set of twin lambs.
This will definitely be the tactic going forward, ewes definitely raise a better lamb then I can✅️

We may of created a little farming monster🤔

Our local footy club buys steers to grow out and farmers in the community house the steers on their property. We've just acquired our lot from the club and they have sparked this discussion with the kids how does it all work. A quick explanation on buying the steers at a lower weight and price and then letting them grow to a heavy weight, usually means you can get a nice little profit for the club.

Enter in my 8 year old, who I found on auctions plus looking at steers for sale ( she really likes money 💰 😅). I love how she has written down the details and now we are on a path to raise her spriggy account funds so she can buy her first steer

Best way to test what you're producing, is to keep back a steer or two and grow them out.

The next crop of calves have had a great start, had me thinking i should of been marking them a month ago😅
